The Star Wars saga finds new life — and new blood — thanks to director JJ Abrams and a fantastic cast. In this seventh chapter of the series, a young orphan, Rey, and a stormtrooper-on-the-run, Finn, team up with Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Princess Leia to stop a reborn Empire and its diabolical figurehead, Kylo Ren. This is fun stuff, and while it’s essentially a retelling of A New Hope, the cast — including Adam Driver as Ren, selling some conflicted dark side realness — and some twists make it re-watchable. In this adaptation of Dan Via’s play, silverdaddy TV personality Colin McCormack (Gerald McCullouch, also the film’s director) and zingy best friend Stuart (Via) find their relationship challenged by the arrival of Tee (Jamie Cepero), a sexy young intern who becomes smitten with Colin. Stuart sees red flags that Tee is perhaps troubled and dangerous, yet Colin, who probably has a secret or two of his own, only gets in deeper and deeper… Extras include a commentary, featurettes, music video and Kickstarter campaign video.

Juampi, a sensitive 16-year-old artistic soul from a rich Ecuadorian family, is left with his uncle in the Andes for a spell during the Carnival holidays. One night, he and his uncle have a run-in with a pair of would-be hubcap thieves, one of whom is Juano, a young indigenous fellow from a whole other economic set. Juamip and Juano grow close, as the latter exposes him to Ecuador’s heavy metal scene… and love.
