Well that was to be expected. eBay has removed Jamie Frevele’s “Right to Marry” auction listing, which Queerty first told you about. Before the Internet giant pulled the listing, Frevele’s bids had topped $300 — all looking to “buy” the heterosexual gal’s right to get married in New York. The auction item was in spirit only (with proceeds benefiting the Point Foundation) but it still ran afoul of eBay’s rules, which bar any items that “include personal opinions, political views, or offensive comments about eBay members” and require auction listings “physically exist.” Well, isn’t that a metaphor for gay marriage?

haha this idea is so funny. Anyway, Ebay doesn’t “physically exist” but that doesn’t stop people from becoming members.

eBay is such a buzzkill. I hate that site. There used to be a time when these kinds of auctions were celebrated and enjoyed. Now eBay pulls them on sight. Oh god, wouldn’t want anyone to have any fun!
