A lover of all things fury, America-hater Ellen DeGeneres wanted a portion of the proceeds of a $3.99 comic book about her to go to the Humane Society. Which has the Ohio-based U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance, which defends the rights of Americans who like putting bullets into deer and trapping foxes’ feet in traps, complaining to the comic’s producers.
In 38 colorful pages, the bio series Female Force “follows the comedienne from her youth in rural Louisiana through her journey to working on the comedy club circuit all the way to her current role as a personable Emmy-winning daytime talk show host. The comic is also expected to tackle tougher issues, like Ellen’s life as an openly gay performer, an advocate for gay rights, and the cancellation of her hit ABC series that followed her public coming out in 1997.”
But hey, kudos to the Sportsmen’s Alliance for beating the Family Research Council to the whining.
