Robert De Niro may be as fine an American actor as they come, but when it comes to the mannequin challenge, he could use some serious pointers.
Yesterday, President Obama gave his final Presidential Medals of Freedom to 21 recipients including Diana Ross, Tom Hanks, Melinda Gates, Robert De Niro and Ellen DeGeneres.
If you haven’t seen the president’s remarks for Ellen, we can’t recommend them enough.
Sometime before or after the ceremony, the famous recipients found themselves in a White House holding room with apparently little to do.
So they went for the mannequin challenge, kicking it off with Robert De Niro staring squarely into the camera and blinking as if to say, “What in the actual hell are we doing?”
Watch below, filmed by Black-ish actress Tracee Ellis Ross:
Look what @RitaWilson #Ellen and I got everyone to do! I'm in the pink dress laughing with Rita! It’s the #MannequinChallenge, Presidential Medal of Freedom Edition at the @WhiteHouse!! Starring #RobertDeNiro, @RitaWilson, @TheEllenShow, @KareemAbdulJabbar_33, @TomHanks, #BillGates, #MichaelJordan, @FrankGehry, my mama #DianaRoss, and more!
We’ve got to say, Michele Obama already nailed the White House mannequin challenge, though:
