Let’s be clear about the facts: ESNP’s Curt Schilling is unpleasant. There’s just no way around it, no room for debate. He just plainly is, and not just because he supported an incredibly hurtful caricature of trans people on Facebook. He’s been a jerk forever (said Hillary Clinton should be buried under a jail, Muslims are comparable to Nazis, etc) and that’s just his “brand.”
Schilling, a former major league baseball player and current analyst for the sports channel, has targeted all kinds of minorities for mistreatment in the past, and now trans people are in his crosshairs, hopefully not literally.
Awhile back, he signal-boosted an image on Facebook, showing a burly-looking person wearing what would probably be considered cross-dressing fetish gear with an accompanying message that this is the type of person who wants to use the bathroom “with your daughter.”
“A man is a man no matter what they call themselves,” Schilling wrote. “I don’t care what they are, who they sleep with, men’s room was designed for the penis, women’s not so much. Now you need laws telling us differently? Pathetic.”

Predictably, there was a bit of an outcry; and also predictably, Schilling has now blamed the rest of the world for being offended. This is almost identical to the tactics that people use in abusive relationships: hit someone, then blame them.
“YOU’RE the ones making it the issue,” he wrote. “If you get offended by ANYTHING in this post, that’s your fault, all yours.”
As is the case in many abusive relationships, the attacker is not without his defender. Schilling appears to have a queer 16-year-old son, Grant, who offered this defense of his dad: “If he were a bigot he wouldn’t have allowed my Trans friends to stay over, he’s respected pronouns and name changes.”
Yes, it sure is a lot easier to call trans people “pathetic” on Facebook than to their faces, isn’t it?
“He may say some stupid things but in this instance he’s said nothing,” Grant wrote. Uh okay dude.
Curt’s wife, Shonda, offered this defense: “This house is and will always be the one place that everyone is accepted and feel loved.”
Sure, that’s probably true. As long as the men only use rooms designed for the penis. Pathetic.

Transgenders are self-phobic. They fear their own selves, the selves that Mother Nature endowed them with.
As for Curt Schilling, maybe he’s a bit coarse but he’s right on this issue.
Again, let me stress my position on this issue: I support the right of people to call themselves whatever they wish to call themselves and to wear whatever clothes they wish to wear. But I won’t stand by and allow “transgenders” to demand that everybody else comply with their demands.
