Esteemed Bigots Gathered in Maine to Figure Out How to Keep You From Marrying

It’s not just gay marriage advocates who hold secret meetings! Opponents do, too. Like they did in Maine yesterday.

Leading bigots including Maine’s Roman Catholic Bishop Richard Malone (yes, this guy) and Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins led the circle jerk in Augusta, closing the doors to media and anyone who supports marriage equality. Because the meeting wasn’t about convincing anyone; it was about strategizing how to get voters to say Yes On 1, which would rescind state law.

Naturally, No On 1’s Mark Sullivan was all “open up the doors, bigots!,” a shout that could not be heard over the sound of god rolling his eyes.
