Hopefully, that means model, actor, and deaf activist Nyle DiMarco will be putting in many long hours during his new series of shirtless ASL lessons every other Wednesday; an attempt towards making ASL more mainstream. (“Why Wednesday?!,” he asks, “Hmm… because it’s ‘hump’Wednesday…”)

I learnt a good chunk of BSL back in the day (I can sign “dirty old man!” and errything). Surprising homophobic actually. Almost certainly that’s changed now.

For some reason — while I would not understand a word he signed had it not been for the subtitles – I find his silence endearing. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that he’s so beautiful.
