Through his attorney, David Bradberry — the former Marine corporal and star of a slew of ActiveDuty.com porn videos — made clear that he doesn’t want his name out there in the media. But that’s not stopping him from granting press interviews. Which is curious, because he doesn’t even have a porn star career to promote even more; after a recent stint with Brent Corrigan, Bradberry says he’s no longer making porn. But after telling Queerty he’d be more than happy to answer our questions, Bradberry is no longer talking to us; instead, he’s fielding requests from Regent Media’s The Advocate and its porn cousin Unzipped. And that’s where he reveals that despite all the negative attention, he’s glad he joined the military — and has “no regrets” about starring in porn.
If he could make the decision all over again, “I probably would not have ever done” porn, Bradberry says. But: “I have no regrets about my choices, but I know now that I have burnt several bridges with my actions. The choices I have made will limit future ones, which is unfortunate, but just a fact I will have to live with.”
Bradberry joined the Marines straight out of high school in 2004, and served four years before an honorable discharged in 2008. A year later, he was doing porn, enticing ActiveDuty.com — a website operated by a one Dink Flamingo, notorious for filming current and former military men engaged in unprotected sex — subscribers with his, uh, military training. (He says he purposefully did not star in porn while enlisted: I knew the risks and they were simply too great for me personally.”)
And despite what he sees as negative attention, he’s proud of his military service. “Joining the military was the best decision of my life, and I would never go back and change it,” he says. “While I maintain that the best years of my life are ahead of me – my time spent in the military was simply amazing. I grew so much as a person – spiritually and culturally. I had the opportunity to experience things that will forever highlight my life.”
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
All the best, David.

Well he looks much better with that tan.

FYI: You are never an “EX” Marine. ONCE A MARINE ALWAYS A MARINE.

He is a babe!
And I am okay with being judgmental: oh yeah, he is a babe! Semper Fidelis!

Here we go again….these stories are getting tiresome.

OOOH RAH! OOOH RAH!
On your knees, leatherneck.

So for the first time Queerty has admitted that David was no longer in the military when these films were made. Queerty has never admitted this before nor admitted that they didn’t bother to do a fact check on this person who served his services honorably.(Something I have repeatedly said over and over) Why let facts get in the way of a good story, right?
As I have mentioned before this could happen to any of us. Any publication could write a story about any of us and be real loose with the fact and just sit back. So no apology, right? No accountablity, right?
It is honorable and right to admit when one is wrong but not in Queerty’s eyes. What damage did you cause to David? Don’t you feel any sence of guilt? Do you have any soul left?
So what now, any person who has appeared in porn are you going to out too? So the doctor, lawyer, school teacher, police officer any one who has done porn and moved on are you going to out them too?
Does it take a lawyer to make you admit when you are wrong or are you that gay man that enjoys watching the suffering of other gay men? Are you so small a person to not be able to say “I’m Sorry.”
Same Crap
Wait? Wha? How exactly do you ‘out’ someone who did porn?
Some people have a weird conception of the porn industry. For crying out loud, it’s a multi-billion dollar industry that markets a product for public consumption, not some underground, black market, hush hush thing. Porn stars complaining about lack of privacy or being ‘outed’ for performing is the definition of chutzpah.
DSNX
@ Same Crap
They “outed” him by using his last name repeatedly (which was discovered in a non-porn related article of a non-porn film shoot). He never used his last name in porn. Queerty made the connection and then REPEATEDLY posted his last name in connection to both his military ties and his porn history.
THAT’S how you out someone as a porn star.
Dawson
Same Crap
By publishing their last name. By making up a story that doesn’t exist. By putting in print a story that wasn’t a story to begin with.
Maybe Mr. Crap you forget that the gay community doesn’t out our own unless our own has done damage to our community, like religious leaders or politicans.
Why should David’s movies, when he wasn’t even in the service, even be a story?
Also if you so concern about outing why do you use a fake name? Tell me that Mr. Crap.
terrwill
David (love that happy trail :-0 )could have avoided this whole mess by not using anything remotley similar to his actual name in the films. He shot them with a professional company. When you sign a release you have the option of adopting a “stage name” which will be associated with all you “work” assoicated with the company……….So if you are contemplating becoming a pornster remember that……..I am pretty sure “Buck Naked” is still available…….. 😛
FakeName
Um, not to get in the way of a good sissyfit, but Queerty did not break this story. The Sword did.
DSNX
@ FakeName
Yet the Sword took the story down upon request, while Queerty posted a SECOND and now THIRD story reiterating the whole thing.
Do you know how internet searches work?
DSNX
And by that…I just mean the sheer repetition of the kid’s name over and over on this site makes the “discovery” of his porn-stardom easier. It wasn’t meant as a dig at your internet searching skills.
Gianpiero
The man says he has no regrets, so I’ll take him at his word. You can’t agree to talk to the Advocate and then be upset if your name pops up on web searches.
FakeName
Good on Queerty for not taking the original story down and good on them for following up, based on what the man himself is saying (as seen at the non-broken link here: http://blog.unzipped.net/2009/12/exclusive-former-marine-turned-active-duty-model-david-speaks.html ). Bradberry is an adult and by his own words (“I knew the risks and they were simply too great for me personally; which is why I waited till after the military to start.” “I made a conscious decision to begin work as an adult entertainer. I knew the risks involved, and I’m not asking for any sympathy.”) he knew what he was doing and he knew there was the chance that his adult work would become common knowledge. If he didn’t want the possibility of his porno past coming up, he shouldn’t have done porn.

And, oh my god, reading Dink Flamingo’s sanctimonious post at the Unzipped blog is making me positively ill.
Qjersey
Dink Flamingo=Old opportunistic queen, just like, hmm let’s see, Brandon, Mike and Jake.
Hopefully when I get old I’ll have enough money to pay hard up white boys money to have sex on camera for me…or to video me sucking them off…NOT.
FakeName
Oh, I don’t care at all whether Flamingo can talk his way into the pants of military queers (oops, they’re all straight on his site, right?) but to criticize sites for supposedly hiding behind anonymity when he’s been working like mad to try and get Bradberry’s anonymity back is ludicrous. Like “Dink Flamingo” is his real name? How much do you want to bet that AD has seen a big uptick in traffic and subscriptions since this broke? I asked Dink whether he’s pulled Bradberry’s videos off his site or if he’s still using them to make money. We’ll see if he answers.
FakeName
No reply from Dink yet but some douchetard called me “self-loathing”. The go-to insult whenever one faggot disagrees with another faggot.
joedee1969
Well I wonder if he regrets this war. I am so sick to my stomach this president went with more war. Here is a great anti-war article:

FakeName
No answer from ol’ Dinky on the substantive questions, but he did take the time to thank the douchetard who has his tongue up Dinky’s ass and accuse me of being a Fox News commentator. What a cuntwaffle.
FakeName
Some other douchetard called me a “cyber bully”. Yeah, asking questions is the surest way to terrorize someone over the computer.
Jon
Oh my FakeName…relax. 6 posts? You’re like a dog with a bone! I guess this issue is your own little Afghanistan.
FakeName
So sorry for trying to have a conversation, Jon. Just commenting on the events around the story, too bad if that triggers some insane need to compare my comments to a war.
Michael W.
Not only did Queerty deceive us about David’s status in the armed forces (which means the whole story was a complete farce), they have the nerve to further disrespect the young man by addressing him as an ex-Marine when no such thing exists.
What a trashy exhibition we’ve seen from this site.
FakeName
Oh please, “once a Marine always a Marine” is a jingoistic slogan that has no meaning in the real world. Marines may or may not feel like they’re still Marines after they are discharged but in actual fact a person who was once a Marine but is no longer affiliated with the USMC is an “ex-Marine”.
BlogReader
As far as fact checking goes, Qweerty neglects to mention that Active Duty hasn’t made any bareback porn in many years, and has made over 80 non-bareback movies since then. I also agree that it’s just wrong to advertise the real name and hometown of a porn star online, and doubt the author of the post would want the same information about himself to be made public for fans and foes alike.
Jose
I came across this article rather randomly, but being someone who did a porn flick back in 98 right out of high school, I can relate to what David may be going through. At 18 I knew that this would be public and that folks I knew may find out about it but nothing had quite prepared me for the after effects of that decision. I was naive and the event had weighed down on my conscience (even now, 12 years later). I wasn’t able to handle the new attention, positive and negative, and felt it didn’t reflect me personally. Editorials/gay media tend to treat those whom perform like a slab of meat, washing their hands from damage and pushing the blame back to the actor. I always see porns like a form of disease, once you get through the initial rush of the act, it sticks with you like a disease that you can’t get rid of. If the actor isn’t seeking attention from print/web media, it’s probably because the actor regrets and or is repentant of having made it. There is no expose important enough related to porn to justify the constant smearing of a person’s name.
I was born and raised in Miami, after this happened I basically moved away and didn’t go back. Just because someone is 18 and “legal” (or in David’s case, still relatively young) doesn’t make them a person of sound decision making.
dekota fanning bitch
@Dave: ooh-rah mother fucker!!!
