Facebook Adds “Married” Icon For Gay Couples. Now We Just Need A Husband

Facebook, has made several pro-LGBT updates in recent years, has just introduced new icons indicating a user is married to a partner of the same sex on his or her timeline, rather than just the icon used for straight married couples.

GLAAD awarded Facebook a GLAAD Media award in June for its efforts in support of  Spirit Day and combating cyberbullying. And recently, it added “In a Civil Union” and “In a Domestic Partnership” as options for users’ relationship status.

Of course they haven’t responded to our request for a “Desperately Single” status option.

LOL hey Queerty! Y’all should be proud, you’ve hit a milestone. You’re so popular you’re getting spam bombed by haters. I’d put a human verification for comments if I were you.

The moment I heard about this I passed the information onto the “One Million(snort laugh*) Moms” page and not so subtly suggested they boycott facebook and delete their page and personal accounts. However I assured them I would stay on and that when I finally get married (legal in my state of Iowa) my mom would surely click “Like” on the post.
