Yes yes, we’re all excited for The Nate Berkus Show to premiere in September (with launch guest Elizabeth Edwards!), and Sara Gillbert’s The Talk to premiere in October, but what about the Canadians intent overtaking American airwaves?
In 2008 Steven Sabados and Chris Hyndman, who don’t just play a couple on TV, launched Steven and Chris on Canada’s CBC. It’s your usual mix of daytime talk show fare: cooking! fashion and design! celebrity guests! health and fitness tips! You know what these sort of things look like.
But now they’re coming Stateside, inking a a syndication deal with a number of networks covering 50 markets, or just 40 percent of the U.S. so far. (Be on the lookout for these two: Among their various brand extensions is a new Niagara Falls wine label.)
Not sure if this type of show is for you? Then read a typical Facebook fanpage comment: “Steven, I just wanted to thank you for your episode on how to spice up your condiments. It was the first time I’d seen the herb paste. I went out the next day & found them at a local grocery store & I am in LOVE with them!!” Ok then. Super excited about recipes it is!
