Fertility Rights for England’s Lesbians Commence

“On Monday 6th April the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act comes into force, granting lesbians equal access to fertility treatment on the NHS. Lesbian women can receive IVF or assisted conception treatments without any involvement from the sperm donor. Furthermore, the biological mother and her partner can have both their names on the birth certificate, enshrining in law for the first time the concept of the two-mother family.” [LGBT Labour]
