Filmmaker Jim Fall announced on Facebook earlier this month that he’s busy working on a follow-up to his 1999 gay rom-com Trick.
“Script is written, doing a reading with the cast soon, raising the money to make it all happen!!!” he wrote.

Well, over the weekend, the original cast reunited for the first reading of the script at the Los Angeles LGBT Center in Hollywood.
The reading marked a reunion for original cast members Christian Campbell, John Paul Pitoc Pitoc, Tori Spelling, Miss Coco Peru, and Steve Hayes.
They were joined by new cast members Jimmy Fowlie, Arne Gjelten, Tara Karsian, Joe Arellano, Elizabeth Regensburger-Gonzalez, and Guillermo Diaz.
The original Trick came out in 1999 and was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. It told the story of two guys–Gabriel (played by Christian Campbell) and go-go boy Mark (played by John Paul Pitoc)–who embarked on a night of hilarious misadventures as they searched for a place to hook up.
In his Facebook post earlier this month, Fall said Trick 2 will be set in New York and L.A.
“Scruff plays a role in bringing our two men back together again,” he adds.
The film is expected to be released next year, just in time to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the original film.

Trick leads were good..story was ok .it was tori spelling that ruined it for me…as far as remaking that and 9 to 5 (nothing gay about that except lily is lesbian ) I’ll pass

Tori Spelling ruined it for you?!?!?! It was the single best performance in the movie. She was absolutely hysterical. Honestly, I thought she deserved an Oscar for her performance. I love the movie, but she was a stand out.
BTW, if that is her on the far left in the red dress, she has lost some weight and is looking real good.

IF Tory Spelling ruined it, you must have missed out on having a woman that was obsessed with her gay friend in your life. I thought her performance was pretty dead on. lol

Hated the first one, thought it was boring. And got so tired of the actors going around afterward insisting they were straight and not gay, as though be gay were a death sentence.

@Mac Advisor. Glad you enjoyed her performance. I found her annoying and wouldnt stfu… I hated every minute she had screen time. I would fast forward her scenes because I felt she brought the story down..to ME if they cut her out I would’ve enjoyed it much more. To each their own…

Trick was awesome and at the time was part of the welcomed relief in the new wave of “gay” films in which no characters were getting queer bashed or dying of AIDS. I’ve been cheering for a sequel for a long time.

The first time I watched it, I thought Tori Spelling and the drag queen were the same person. They look so much alike.

Hahaha! That confused me, at first, too.
I thought Tori Spelling was superb in Trick. She reminded me of so many theater geeks I went to school with. She also made House of Yes around the same time, in which was also excellent. I had high hopes for her as an actress, but then she fell into the Reality TV swamp. Well, a girl’s gotta eat, right?
