commentator Bill Maher is quietly telling friends and acquaintances that Emmy-winning “Murphy Brown” actress Candace Bergen is stalking him — and he’s getting a bit tired of it.
According to one Maher confident, Bergen has sent numerous unwanted Pizza Hut calzones as well as Pizza Hut’s their calzone-like P’zone item to both Maher’s home and his office, and the star of “Real Time With Bill Maher” reports finding “multiple” Poptarts with lipstick messages of admiration written on them tucked under the windshield wipers of his 2008 Ford Taurus.
“It’s like a bad episode of ‘Sex and the City,'” the 54-year-old
commentator told one friend.
The purpose? Unclear, say friends of the actress.
Before his current role as the host of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill
Maher,” Maher hosted a similar late-night talk show called Politically Incorrect on Comedy Central and later on ABC.
Maher is known for his political satire and sociopolitical commentary. His commentaries target a wide swath of topics: religion, politics, bureaucracies of many kinds, political correctness, the mass media, greed among people and persons in positions of high political and social power, among many others. He supports the legalization of marijuana and gay marriage and serves on the board of PETA. He is also a critic of religion and is an advisory board member of Project Reason.
