A team of firemen in Kota Baru, Malaysia were called to remove a steel cock ring that had become stuck around a man’s ball sack, The Star Online reports.

Fireman Zaki Ismail said his department received a frantic call from the emergency room of a local hospital at around 7:25 a.m. Saturday morning. Hospital workers said they didn’t have the right tools to do the job, and so they needed his department’s help.

Ismail and his men rushed to the scene. When they got there, Ismail said, “the man was  unconscious.” The ring was made out of stainless steel and looked, Ismail claimed, “like a vehicle spare part.”

When asked how it got stuck around the man’s genitals, Ismail told the paper he had no idea, nor did he ask.

“We were concentrating on the job of removing the ring,” he said.

The cock ring ended up needing to be cut off, a procedure that took extreme concentration.

“You can’t have shaky hands and you have to be very confident while performing the procedure,” Ismail said.

Later that evening, the fire department tweeted a photo of the cock ring being removed by firemen. The photo was also posted to the department’s official Facebook page, where it has received more than 10,000 “likes” and 1,500 shares.

Both patient and ball sack are expected to make a full recovery.
