FL Gov. Rick Scott Uses Awesome New Super Powers To Offend Homosexuals

While Rhode Island’s gays woke up to a new, insanely friendlier man in the governor’s mansion, Florida’s Gov. Rick Scott spent the day of his swearing in — after his prayer breakfast — issuing a slew of executive orders, including EO 11-04, which bars discrimination against state employees based on “race, gender, creed, color and national origin.” Huh. Not only does the order appear unnecessary, it also seems to strip away existing protections under the Florida Civil Rights Act, which bars discrimination based on “race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, handicap, or marital status.” Neither regulation, however, includes sexual orientation or gender identity. But c’mon, this is the guy who loved Florida’s ban on gays adopting, and wants to keep marriage for heterosessuals. No wonder this guy thinks he needs security guards armed with earpieces and helicopters trailing his every move just to stay safe.
