Jose Rosario-Gonzalez, a Florida high-school teacher, has resigned rather than face termination, after a YouTube video titled “Gay Threesome Sex” appeared on a projector in his class, according to WTSP News in Tampa Bay.
Rosario-Gonzalez, who teaches at T. Dewitt Taylor Middle-High School in Pierson, FL, got into hot water last month when he connected his school-issued laptop into the classroom’s projector to show a video to his class. As he scrolled through his uploads, the gay-sex title popped up.
“Mr. Rosario was on YouTube, he scrolled through his videos and there was history videos except for one,” one student wrote. “This was one was titled ’Gay Threesome Sex.’ The whole class was saying ’ewww’ and ’What is that doing on there?’ and he just kept scrolling and didn’t say anything.”
It’s not clear if students saw any visuals from the clip or how an explicit video appeared on YouTube, which normally bans such content.
Told he would be fired if students’ allegations of the incident proved true, Rosario-Gonzalez, 53, resigned his position after 12 years at the school. He claims”did this on his own time, in the privacy of his home and it was never his intention to show students.”
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Apparently, Rosario-Gonzalez has been reprimanded for being inappropriate before: He once gave students the link to his personal site—which had adult sexual content—in order to get class notes. The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that, despite his resignation, Rosario-Gonzalez is still under investigation by the Department of Education.

Just another way Google is destroying society with their stance on keeping the internet free rather than supporting PIPA and SOPA like they should.
Thomathy
Tracy …how has Google to do with this at all? And what would supporting draconian measures like PIPA and SOPA do to stop ‘destroying society’?
The teacher is, at best, a creep. Adult sexual material on his personal website which he referred students to? A video in his viewed history on YouTube? This man was deliberate in the content on his website and likely deliberate in what he chose to watch on YouTube. He has very bad judgment if he thinks his students should be exposed to anything like what he had on his website or what he’s watched on YouTube.
This is the fault of a creepy man; it’s a good thing that he resigned and that he is still under investigation.
chris
The problem is: There is NO correlation to what a video is titled and what it actually contains. Search around You Tube yourself before you pronounce judgement. Should it have been there, probably not. Should the teacher have been using his PERSONAL computer in the classroom, NO.
If school systems provided their teachers with the proper, needed and required equipment then issues like this would never happen.
He made a mistake, yes. Let it go at that!
Chris
@chris: Yeah,I was with him until they revealed that he had sent students to sites with adult content before in order to get notes. If true, he probably should have received some sort of discipline for that, rather than for this. A title popping up and not being shown really means nothing.
Lukie
Not to call Bullshit on this but you can’t post porn on Youtube.
The closest thing to a gay 3-way you’ll see is a Jonas Brothers video.
There was no porn that popped up on the scree. Maybe something CALLED “gay threesome sex” but it was probably a Funny or Die parody.
Youtube doesn’t allow porn of any kind.
Gregg
@chris, It says Rosario-Gonzalez used a school-issued laptop, not his personal computer. But more importantly, how would the school system “[providing] their teachers with the proper, needed and required equipment” have prevented this? Whether I look at a video called “gay threesome sex” on a desktop in my classroom or on my personal laptop at home, it will show up in my YouTube history.
Marc
@Tracy: Excuse me, but your “Agenda” is showing. I notice you have not responded to the comments mentioning that “porn” is not allowed on YouTube. Are you part of the “Witch Hunt” being performed by the school? There are several things the teacher is guilty of, but exposing his students to porn — in this particular instance, anyway — is NOT one of them.
Lefty
I thought this was a story about Morrissey, at first.
“She’s gone to seed,” I thought… 🙁
randy
If you go to youtube and type in gay threesome sex, you get a video of Davey Wavey shirtless talking about gay threesomes. That’s about it.
Stephanie Donald
@Gregg: For one thing, it’s easy enough to simply clear your browser’s history every day before you take it into the classroom. That’s not only a smart thing to do but covers your butt.
I would never use a work issued computer to view that sort of stuff (not that porn attracts me in the least and I am a lesbian but then again, most women aren’t turned on by visual stimulus and more tactile and emotionally stimulated) but as someone else pointed out, they don’t post porn on YouTube. It had to be a gag video and if the computer officials for Volusia County schools had actually watched it then they might have seen that (I looked it up and could only find “punked” videos and spam videos and one that was a Christian video that asked you if you were ashamed of yourself for being gay).
This is simply another issue of puritanical assholes in the Florida school systems who jump to conclusions and drop the ax on someone’s neck without actually bothering to investigate and they immediately assassinate the man in the press before he’s been found guilty of any wrong doing.
They just love a good sensationalist story that whips up the Christian conservatives down here! (I live in the next county down–Brevard–where they launch rockets from)
Clockwork
Sounds like the man just broke too many rules or had a work relationship that never quite came together.
Five reprimands or warnings. Maybe he had just been working the wrong career, wrong boss, wrong place at the wrong time.
Tough way for 12 years of service to end, but I’ve been in this guys shoes more than once, where the warnings just keep coming no matter what you do.
Kevin
@randy: And that’s appropriate for a teacher to show his students in class?
Rockery
Are people misreading this? Or am I? Didn’t it say it was in his “uploads”? Meaning he put it up there? Its not his history, there were history Videos. Anyway, YouTube does not allow porn but some “racy” things get through until people flag it enough, but it would not be penetration or anything. Either way it more embarrassing then anything I would just leave and not come back. Looks like he probably gets a kick put of showing them sexual content LOL
JON
OOPS!
Adam
I agree with Lukie, youtube does not allow pr0n at all. The video may have been called “Gay 3 some sex” but it was not actually porn.
Tommy
Not to burst a bubble but there’s still porn on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8vi-2O5Wx_0 , seems to be a series on there. I was surprised when I was searching for any old video of the stonewall riots and found that.
chris
@Tommy: You must have searched pretty hard to find this. Not exactly porn. Kids in jr. high play worse video games. And more! Get real, kids know more and DO more today than ever before. Do not be simplistic and think kids today are the same sweet, uneducated, and sexual unknowing they were 20 years ago!
jason
This is why you should keep your personal sex life separate from your professional life.
Stephanie Donald
@chris: You don’t understand what things are like in the Bible belt of Florida! The kids down here in Florida love making things bad for the teachers by coming up with things like this (even if they have to make things up like this some times) by telling their hell-fire-and-brimstone parents that they did something that was very un-Christian-like. If you don’t live down here, don’t jump to conclusions about how the kids are down here. They’re stupid, mean and like nothing better than to bully “queers”. You read where everyone in the class immediately said, “ewwww” when the title of the video came up? They were serious and wanted to make this teacher become their new subject of bullying because he exposed himself for one brief second and that gave them the opportunity to use him to make him feel worse than they feel.
