The only thing really shocking about this story is that there is an American-style football league in Sweden, and apparently its got quite a following.
Inspired by NFL draft hopeful Michael Sam’s recent reveal, Swedish football player Marcus Juhlin has come out of the closet in a very public way, appearing on the cover of the gay QX magazine.
The 22-year-old told the mag that his decision wasn’t just for himself, but for all the other gay athletes out there who question whether or not to share their truth.
Reactions from teammates, coaches and fans has been overwhelmingly supportive.
