Lenny Dykstra’s got a lot of balls. In an interview with The Herd with Colin Cowherd, the former MLB player dropped some major bombshells about how he used homophobia and blackmail to get ahead in the league.
He says he spent half a million bucks hiring private investigators to dig up any dirt he could on umpires, and some of that dirt happened to be of the man-on-man variety.
“Their blood’s just as red as ours, some of them like women, some of them like men, some of them gamble … some of them do whatever.”
Dykstra’s scumbag tactics got him what he wanted, and he gloated to Cowherd about the results:
“It wasn’t a coincidence that I led the league in walks the next few years, was it?”
According to TMZ Sports, he certainly did. Dykstra led the league in walks in 1993, and says that umpires would often shrink the strike zone for him during his at-bats in the ’90s.

Dykstra is just trying to sell a book, not credible at all.
But, now that he said it, he better be ready for some investigations,
and some under oath. If what he says is true, then the money trail will
lead to the private detectives and the detectives (if they exist, which is
doubtful) are going to tell the truth under oath. There is no client-detective
protected information. But, sounds like more mularky from Dykstra — which
is sad.

It’s not hard to hire a private eye to blackmail people… it’s done everyday. The majority of the work private eyes get is digging for dirt. What else would you need them for? The police handle illegal activity. It’s rare for most people to be using them to find some long lost relative. They dig for dirt. They spy on people. Many of them work full time as debt collectors and are scummier than the people who hire them.
