Former U.S. President and official Cool Dude Jimmy Carter has given his opinion on LGBT rights and people who use the Bible to defend homophobia.
“I never knew of any word or action of Jesus Chris that discriminated against anyone,” he told a group of students while speaking at Grand Rapids Community College’s 100th anniversary celebration in Michigan this week, in response to a question about LGBT rights.
“The sexual orientation of a person is just like the color of their skin,” he added.

How about we take this to the next level?

President Jimmy Carter is the best President this country has ever had during my lifetime….I’m 68.
He faced an obstinate Congress who did nothing but obstruct his progress. The whole hostage release situation was manipulated to make him look bad.
I still find it amazing that this country bought that creep reagan’s BS. I guess if nixon could be president, any jack ass could get there as long as he/she is already bought and paid for by the corporations and folks who really run this country.
Kennedy was second. The jury is still out on whether or not he would have continued the Viet Nam disaster but I bet he would have.

…..to continue….
If this country has listened to him about our energy usage, we would be far down the self sustaining, renewable energy road.
Don’t forget that one of the first things ronnie raygun did when he moved in was to have the solar panels removed from the White House.
Here is a link to several sites listing his accomplishments…

The Corporate Newsmedia HATES this President because he is anti-War and dared to suggest that the US government act like an honest broker in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Religion shouldn’t be relevant at all. It’s just a mixed bag of opinions, perspectives, and a boat load of unsupported claims. Screw that.

According to the popular myth, Jesus lived at home until he was nearly 30, his mom thought he was God, he never dated any girls, his only female friend was a prostitute, he enticed 12 men to leave their careers and families and hang out with him, he turned water into WINE (not beer), he walked on water (light in his loafers?), his hair was beautifully conditioned (according to all the popular pictures), he could raise the dead, threw his own going away party and then had a fit when everyone fell asleep in the garden: “YOU DON’T LOVE ME, DAMMIT!”
He spoke against many things, but never said a word about homosexuality.
I’d say Jesus was somewhat gay.

I like the way you think.

He was a terrible president, but seems to be a good guy. I agree with Nice N Cool.

Question: Who the hell cares? There’s no proof Jesus ever even existed, so why are people still so enamored with mythological beings? I wonder what Hercules would have thought about female bodybuilders?

Mary Magdeline was never a prostitute. That was made up by a pope that wanted to denigrate women and put them in their place, barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. Why women continue to perpetuate that is beyond me.

Which Pope and when?

Could someone educate me out there? Has being gay become the #1 Commandment? Have we passed murder, adultery, stealing, working on Sundays and all the other Commandments? Should we ask the religious right if being gay is the worse of all of the Commandments? Oh, wait it is not a Commmandment. Silly me. So do I get a pass if i kill my adulerous lover for bring home something from work on Sunday? I think we should ask these people if my sin (WHICH IT IS NOT) is the worse of all of the other sins? waaaaiittt—You are not allowed to judge, said the good book. my,my….

I agree with money718. Carter was an awful president but a kind-hearted soul on a personal level.
