Leaders within the USA’s Presbyterian Church voted yesterday to amend a 1962 translation of a 16th century German text. The later translation of the Heidelberg Catechism magically included a condemnation of homosexuality, one which was used within stricter circles to admonish the same-sex “sinners.” A closer look at the original text, however, shows that the gays weren’t mentioned in the Catechism and the finger wagging has now been removed. Hallelujah! [Christian Post]
