Those ignorant scamps over at Fox and Friends are having a really hard time processing the idea of gender-neutral toy marketing. It would be sort of cute if it wasn’t so pathetic.
Target recently announced they’d stop labeling toys and bedding by gender, a move that if you’re under the age of twelve, you likely won’t even notice.
The shift comes after the company received massive criticism on social media over separate labeling for “Building Sets” and “Girls Building Sets.”
“They’re going gender neutral, whatever that is,” Fox News host Steve Doocy said to tease the segment. Is it that tough of a concept, Steve?
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
“Is this going to confuse you? I know it’s going to confuse me,” Alcides Segui of Fox affiliate WTVT admitted with a chuckle. “And they’re doing it not only at this store here in Tampa but all Target stores across the country.”
“Now you have to sit there and look at a blended area and wonder, ‘Is this for a boy or a girl,’” Brian Kilmeade griped. “There’s going to be some unhappy boys and unhappy girls now.”
Boys and girls encouraged to play with toys as opposed to girl toys and boy toys? God forbid!
Maybe this simple flow chart would help them out:

Anyone ever notice that of these types of coffee-klatch/news-y morning shows, Fox always, without fail, produces and broadcasts the most inane segments with the absolute DUMBEST hosts?
There’s this “Fox and Friends” travesty and the crimes against humanity that are “Good Day New York” and “Good Day L.A.” all of whose anchors ought to be treated as the word implies: attached to heavy chains and sunk to the bottom of the ocean.
I can’t bring myself to watch Fox’s other “news” channels. I want to personally shave Maria Bartiromo’s head bald and toss her out in the cold for leaving CNBC for Fox Business.

OR… the fucking kids can just pick their own toys when you take them to the store. It’s only confusing to dumb ass adults who in turn have their dumb ass kids turn into dumb ass adults. Although, I will admit that PC terminology can become grating when people attempt to make EVERYTHING politically correct… this, however, is nothing.

WOW! This IS breaking news on Faux! SMH and it is spinning too! It’s a SAD day when this is all they have to talk about besides the other things going on around the world. What’s really truly sad is that ppl WATCH this $hit AND believe it! Just let the children go in and pick what makes THEM happy. No need to direct them to a “certain” isle. Just let them discover their own identity…

Fox aside, I think most people agree that this move by Target is ridiculous. Thinking that we shouldn’t acknowledge people’s gender is stupid.

It’s about sales, now they can almost double the revenue in those departments making toys “OK” for whomever is drawn to them..

The Left will never be happy until they obliterate any and all differences between male and female.
Lazycrockett
No maybe the “left” just want kids comfortable enough with themselves so they don’t commit suicide cause they didn’t fit in.

Thinking back to my toy-age childhood in the 80’s, the most boy-centric toys I had were the Hot Wheels cars. I had loads of them. Lots of stuffed animals. My favorite was the trash can full of Legos. Even now, I wish I still had them, even if it meant closing all the curtains to dump ’em out on the living room floor to build houses and cities. I didn’t get a Nintendo until I was 10 or 11 and luckily never really got that into video games; that old-school Nintendo was the only system I ever had. Lots of books (Madeleine L’Engle). Lots of blank paper and pencils.

What happen? The stupid republican debates blow over already? Donald Trump’s bad hair piece flew off?
@Alistair Wiseman: You’re a blithering idiot. Nothing you say makes any sense. The left wants equality and justice for people who are being pressured by gender norms. People like you, alistair, drive people to suicide. Not everyone wants to live to your antiquated idiotic gender norms.
@aliengod: “I think most people agree that this move by Target is ridiculous.”
Blah blah blah… most people? Got any samples to prove that? Or how about a poll? What you think… wait… you don’t do much thinking in the first place.
“Thinking that we shouldn’t acknowledge people’s gender is stupid.”
You are not in a position to judge or acknowledge other people. You ought to show respect to other people and who they are. You are not in a position to determine the way other people are. If some don’t live in your norms and standards, you are not in a position to judge them. So seriously, shut your mouth.

Good for Target, toys have no gender.
Alistair Wiseman
@Paul Tidd: states,
“…toys have no gender.”
Spoken by someone that has no children.

ANY decent parent knows what toys their kids want without labels. They might not want to buy their daughter a Tonka Truck or their son an Easy Bake Oven if they have issues with kids not being walking stereotypes, but they sure as hell know that they want them. It’s always so idiotic when the folks on Fox try to pretend that something is just too confusing to understand.
Giancarlo85
Alistair, I personally hope you don’t have any children and aren’t even near children for that matter. They don’t need to brainwashed by a right wing fundamentalist.
BJ McFrisky
Target folded faster than Superman on laundry day.
Looks like men’s clothing stores and women’s shoe stores are doomed by the politically correct who can’t grasp there are differences between men and women.
Dev.C
@aliengod:
It’s not about ignoring gender, it’s acknowledge that kids shouldn’t be instructed what to play with based upon what gender they are, they’re just toys.

aliengod
@Dev.C: It was my understanding that they were removing “Boys” and “Girls” from clothing sections as well. Toys I can understand but clothing is ridiculous. Kids need to be taught what’s appropriate. Not that “anything goes”. This whole gender nonconforming nonsense is absurd!

Other than my Matchbox car collection, and books, I don’t remember playing with many toys as a child. I used to put the cars under my pillow before I went to sleep, and I’d leave them all over the house. It drove my mother crazy. I mostly did sports from a very young age, so I didn’t really play with toys much, plus I had four older siblings, and wanted to be like they were. I traded any thing I had for pocket knives (still have the collection) at a very young age, and kept them all in a cigar box. I was a little country bumpkin roughneck, and just wanted to be outside and away from the grip of my mother – got my first dirt bike around 4th grade. Precocious little punk. I was also very polite and obedient, so I never got into trouble.
Fox is a joke.
aaronarnwine
Meh. Target can do what they want, but they don’t deserve any praise or recognition for what they are doing. Sometimes you have to buy something for a child you don’t know anything about really and you rely on some people to tell you what’s popular with boys and girls. boys and girls ARE DIFFERENT. that doesn’t mean a girl CAN’T play with GI Joes or transformers (dating myself) or that boys can’t play with dolls…but c’mon what’s with this societal deconstruction. boys and girls are different and that’s a wonderful thing. if girls were into boy stuff, then who would gay guys hang out with, gossip with and get our fashion advice from if girls just wanted to play xbox and hate shopping? 😉

@Alistair Wiseman: Or by someone who believes that he should let his children make their own choices in life rather than force them to follow a socially-constructed path that is unsuitable for them.

@Paul Tidd: EXCELLENT point!

Wow! Those men are REALLY stupid. The woman does make a good point though: Kids will have no trouble finding the toys they want.

@aliengod: As usual, you express an opinion without knowing the facts. The video clearly states that they’re NOT removing Girls and Boys labels from clothing. You should work at FOX. You’re as clueless as they are.

@jwtraveler:
Target can try all they want, but inanimate objects such as bedding and toys do not care who buy them. Parents do care what their children play with.
That is something Target cannot control.
Giancarlo85
@BJ McFrisky: Oh that’s nice. I didn’t realize all of us had to live by your right wing 1950s era conceptions of men and women. I take it you think women should stay at home and not work?
@aliengod: Appropriate? By what standard? A 1950s era mentality that you and other right wing sleazebags have? By the way, they never removed girls and boys labels from clothing as JW has said. It only apply to toys.
@Alistair Wiseman: I didn’t realize Target was so intent on controlling what parents do. It’s their own fucking stores and inventory. People can buy it or not. I personally don’t even like Target that much.

If the only thing you know about the child is the genitals they have maybe you shouldn’t be buying them toys.

@Alistair Wiseman: “Target can try all they want, but inanimate objects such as bedding and toys do not care who buy them.

Yes, that’s exactly the point, and the reasons for the complaints.
“Parents do care what their children play with.”
Yes, and stupid parents like you think that they can influence their children’s sexuality and gender identity by limiting their choice of toys. News flash: They can’t! It only makes kids feel insecure, guilty and ashamed. On the other hand, limiting children’s choices in the toys they play with may encourage them to feel limited in the choices they make in life. That’s why, as the woman in the video wisely says, if you remove the gender labels, the kids will find the toys they want. If the girls want the Barbie dolls and the boys want the trucks, that’s fine, but why limit their choices? If those clueless men don’t know which toys to buy their kids, they could try doing something unheard of, ASK THEM!
