  • Sam

Why is there a black pride?

  • Aiden

@Sam: Would you rather we be complaining about not enough representation?

  • blaque

@Sam: Because the White and Latino dudes don’t like to party with Black dudes unless the Black dudes are “White-Washed”

  • delurker

@Sam: Haha. I love it. White gay privilege speaks. Tell white gays to be more inclusive, then maybe other groups won’t feel the need to start their own. :)

  • delurker

@blaque: You bring up an interesting side issue. Isn’t it interesting that in the gay community, Latinos have kind of “round up” to white and have almost the same priviliged position as whites? This is not true for society as a whole where Latinos, though gaining representation, are still somewhat at the margins, like most other minorities.

I don’t know if that means progress in the gay community, or what. But I do find it interesting…

  • TheRealAdam

Blacks have never been excluded from attending Pride events, so a black pride seems redundant.
