After dropping a series of short teasers, FX has finally released the full trailer for The Assassination of Gianni Versace, the hotly anticipated second installment of Ryan Murphy’s award-winning limited series, American Crime Story.

Viewers finally get to see Penelope Cruz as Donatella Versace and Ricky Martin as Gianni Versace’s lover Antonio D’Amico—covered in blood, naturally. But most of the trailer is devoted to Darren Criss, who plays Versace’s maniacal killer, Andrew Cunanan.

How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
“I think we’ve been very respectful to his [Versace’s] family, particularly. Donatella had some requests about how the children were depicted in the show,” Murphy says. “I listened to that. As a father, I understood. I wasn’t interested in going there, out of respect for her.”
The 10-episode series will premiere in January.

I can not stand Ryan Murphy, I’m overdosing ….

looks like it might be fun. for sure, all are far more attractive than the originals….

This movie should be on the must-see list of every well kept twink across the planet. Its a look at what happens once sugar daddies realize just how old, lazy and useless your once young, beautiful ass has become and decides to get rid of you.

Yep. The movie is so much more then just Giannini Versace.

hardly, more like the story of an abusive father’s effect on a queer son. Cunanan was pimped out by his father from a very young age. Some believe Versace was a “customer” of that business in California.

Darren Criss, though talented, has always looked completely asexual to me. If his acting is up to the roll, that could serve him well in this part. (Note the “to me” in the first sentence.)

This was a horrific story. I hope Ryan Murphy doesn’t camp it up too much. Andrew Cunanan’s murderous spree led to at least five dead gay men, not just Gianni Versace (RIP). I also think it’s notable that they’re casting Criss, who like Cunanan, is Hapa (Asian/European). In the past Hollywood would whitewash a role like this, so they’re definitely learning.

I don’t know about the TV movie yet, but it seems really hypocritical of Murphy that he has in his preview Donatella Versace saying something along the lines of
“…I will not let this man, this nobody, kill my brother twice…”
Yet the movie is seemingly focused on that man, a serial killer, and glamorizing that “nobody”.

I’m not so sure I want to relive the senseless killing of Gianni Versace. It was horrible enough the first time.

Oh come on. This was the news back then. That and Princess Diana’s death a little later on.
