Gay Cat In Nigeria Is Publicly Disowned By His Owner

A woman in Nigeria has disowned her seven-year-old cat for displaying “unnatural sexual behavior” when it made repeated sexual advances towards other male cats, the Nigerian newspaper Leadership reports.

The woman, who declined to give her name, told the paper she became concerned when the animal seemed to be attracted “only to other male cats in the house even though there are several other female cats.”

She felt the frisky feline’s actions were “a contradiction of the laws of nature.”

Neighbors of the woman confirmed that the cat, indeed, had a history of acting gay.

The newspaper also reports that this is the first time a cat has been “so publicly declared gay and disowned by its owner.”

“Anybody interested in this gay cat can have it because I have no further use of it,” the woman told the paper.

So far there have been no takers. It’s unclear what the fate of the cat will be.

The woman’s public rejection of her cat comes after Nigeria’s president, Goodluck Jonathan, signed a bill declaring that gay people could be imprisoned for up to 14 years for showing public displays of affection.
