Two of our favorite gay dads, Kordale and Kaleb, are back!
The proud papas just landed a gig as models for a new Nikon ad campaign called I Am Generation Image.
Nikon gave the guys a brand new camera to document their lives and the marks they are making on the world. Naturally, they used it to capture all sorts of sweet images of their three adorable kiddos.
“Last year, we were surprised when a picture of us doing our daughters’ hair went viral,” the two dads say in the campaign. “To us, that’s just part of our morning routine. With our images, we want to share our family’s life — and maybe reveal how much our family is like yours.”
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
In January 2014, the two dads received negative criticism from bigots on Twitter for posting photos of their modern family on Instagram. In May of 2014, Kordale released a memoir about the experience that went on to be a number 1 bestseller online.
Check out photos and video from Kordale and Kaleb’s journey on the campaign’s website.

Hot dads and such a great story!
Arcamenel
Finally. I was getting tired of ads with gay men only being several shades of white.
jwtraveler
@Arcamenel: I had a similar thought. Queerty has discovered that there are gay couples and fathers who are……black!

Nice story. And such a beautiful couple…
arischer
yes, fame whores come in every side of the rainbow

I want to be adopted by these two!

I followed these guys on Instagram when they first made the news about a year ago.
It was kind of refreshing to finally see a gay black couple and their family being represented in a positive way. But I eventually unfollowed them. They’re major fame whores, and they frequently post risque & sexually suggestive photos. It just seemed kinda weird to have half naked photos of yourself, followed by pics of your kids.
I dont know, they just come off as attention & validation seeking, fame whores to me.

@arischer: Troll level = expert

@wagnerwallace: Once you become a parent you do not suddenly stop being a sexual human being. Don’t put your hangups on these guys. We live in a society where most younger than the age of 40 tweet, post, and IG every piece of their life. That’s not being a fame whore, just being young and modern.

@wagnerwallace: That’s great news. Because I’d love to see these two naked…
wagnerwallace
@Scribe38: to each its own – I just thought it was kinda weird.

@Arcamenel: That is how you had to word it, eh? Your words come off as a bit r*cist in my book. You could have said “I love ads that feature gay men of color, I would love to see more” or something like that and had some grace but instead you decided to disparage “shades of white”. Why is that?
Sebizzar
I hope everyone thinks of them when they think of gay dads 🙂 If they do want fame, so what? They deserve it and it’d be awesome to see them on a show or movie.

@DarkZephyr You sound so stupid, “shades of white”??? WTF does that even mean… these ARE African American men being featured in a major ad and Arcamenel is just being happy about that. Stop being sensitive and playing the victim card.
Saint Law
It’s some small compensation for all the shitty shitty trolling they’ve endured.

@arischer: I suppose just like Dan Savage husband Terry Miller…

Where’s most of the hate coming from? The black community.
