Have you ever wondered what goes on behind-the-scenes at the Olive Garden? No? Well, you’re about to find out anyway.
Twitter user Joe Wadlington recently went on a date with a guy he met on Tindr. Halfway through the date, the guy revealed that he was the former general manager of the Olive Garden in Times Square. And that’s when things got interesting.
Joe proceeded grill his date about the goings-on at Olive Garden, which he then shared with the world on Twitter:
Clearly, he'd seen some shit. So the next hour and a half was me asking questions. I tried to do y'all right.

His first question was about famous bottomless breadstick baskets:
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Q Did y'all ever run out of breadsticks? If so what happened?
A Yes. Twice. Worst shifts of my life. People were angry, kept telling us "no"— Joe Wadlington (@JoeWadlington) April 19, 2017
"They kept saying, 'OLIVE GARDEN DOESNT DO THAT, our Olive Garden, in Ohio, doesn't do that."
— Joe Wadlington (@JoeWadlington) April 19, 2017
Next, he asked about the endless soup and salad deal:
A: Not on my shifts. But if someone wanted to, Olive Garden would not let us remove them. They are "family" and would be allowed to eat.

Joe then proceeded to ask his date about the weirdest thing he ever witnessed while working at the Olive Garden:
Q: Steak knives? Like the knives from the table or BYOK?
A: From the table. So, it started out as a fist fight and the other manger pulled— Joe Wadlington (@JoeWadlington) April 19, 2017
Stairs. She stopped the elevator on the 2nd floor and grabbed a knife off someone's table.
A: someone else's knife?!
Q: yes— Joe Wadlington (@JoeWadlington) April 19, 2017
ran down there and pulled them apart again. They were on the first floor at this point. And he threw them out into the street. So they could

A: What happened after that?
Q: I don't know. They were outside, so they weren't our problem anymore
A: Would you say they're still "family"— Joe Wadlington (@JoeWadlington) April 19, 2017
A: You may be surprised, but yes, Olive Garden running out of breadsticks is worse than a knife fight.
Q: No, I totally get it.— Joe Wadlington (@JoeWadlington) April 19, 2017
In case you’re wondering how the evening ended, Joe tweeted:
Reader, I married him. ?

We can’t help but wonder what Marilyn Hagerty, the 90-year-old food critic for the Grand Forks Herald in North Dakota, who’s glowing review of the Olive Garden went viral back in 2012 and earned her a Wikipedia page feels about all this.

What is the point of this story? Must be a slow news day.
Wayne_in_NYC
I sincerely doubt that these are their deepest secrets! I’ve never read such a boring “tell all” article. Since they are married now, I’m sure he’s not going to “reveal” anything juicy. I agree with ducky28215… Must be a very slow “news” day if this is the best they’ve got!

“Did he give them breadsticks?” That’s funny.
DannyJude
It’s just a humorous account of somebody’s date, guys. Not every article need to be newsworthy.

Moral of the story?…….????……?????……bring your own breadsticks?
