It’s time to get acquainted with the cute couple that just won Amazing Race Canada: Paul Mitskopoulos and Sam Lambert, the second same-sex couple to win the competition following last season’s Steph LeClair and Kristen McKenzie.

Thank you ?? • • What an exhausting but amazing leg #samandpaul #amazingracecanada #visitpanama

Seeing as they were the first two feisty-pants to cross the finish line in Québec City, the sprightly pair will now be lavished in $250,000, a trip around the world, and a Next Generation 2018 Chevrolet Equipnox True North Edition, because why the hell not? They earned it.

According to Georgia StraightLambert cheekily said, “This is the most amazing thing. We’ve met so many amazing people.”

“And the fact that I got to do it with Paul…? This race really has changed my life.”

The experience does indeed sound damn formative: Mitskopoulos wasn’t completely out to his friends and family yet:

“Not being fully comfortable with who I was just about a year ago and then to be standing on national television in the top position was just so incredible.”

He tells CTV:

“This race really has changed my life. Even six months ago, I didn’t want to tell people I was gay.

I told my family and friends, but just being in front of all of these people, and being able to show that this is my boyfriend, the man I am in-love with….I feel liberated, it’s the best feeling.”

When the final episode of the program aired, Lambert took to Instagram, writing, “And that’s a wrap folks!”
