When you think Mother’s Day, your mind almost immediately goes to drag queens, right? They’re maternal and loving and drunk most of the time. Okay, one out of three ain’t bad, but they can’t be any worse than the Mother of All Mothas, Faye Dunaway as Joan Crawford in Mommie Dearest. New York’s W Hotel has untucked a few Drag Mamas to commemorate the holiday that reminds you of how neglectful you are to the woman who ruined the best years of her thighs birthing you:
Guests can choose from five complimentary Mommie Dearest film – inspired options while staying at W New York – Downtown. Email our Insider to reserve any of the below Mommie Dearest services and be sure to include your reservation confirmation number, name, and preferred service time. Best Mother’s Day movie of all time: the Director’s Cut of “Aliens” (the Blu-ray is stunning) with Sigourney Weaver. When someone risks an entire planet to save her little girl – now THAT’s one helluva mother!

I bought my mom this movie on DVD for Mother’s Day a few years ago.

@Dale Landefeld: She was! I put a white shirt to dry on a wire hanger, and it left rust colored marks on it.

W Downtown? I live there!
True story: while my mother was in labor with me in 1979, she was reading “Mommie Dearest” in the hospital while my father slept in the waiting room. Explains a lot.
@dommyluc I’ve got to search for a gif of the “Get away from her you BITCH!” moment. I’m bound to find a use for it.
@Avery As an admitted OCD nut job, I buy those Ikea wooden hangers by the gross so every hanger in my closet matches. I want it to look like a store in there.

Little bit of trivia the I just recently discovered. And I have watched ROSEANNE over and over and over, and never clue in..The little girl who played CHRISTINA, played the neighbour on ROSEANNE for about 2 seasons off and on. The was a single man with 2 daughters, Danielle Harris was one of the daughters and the girl who played CHRISTINA in Mommie Dearest..played the other daughter and Danielle’s tv sister.

@Kirk Montrealer:
Never caught that either. Yes…I remember Roseanne telling her “You’re sixteen! You shouldn’t have a meatloaf recipe.” And the younger sister was a trampy little thing Darlene hated.
