too gay

Glee‘s Ryan Murphy v. Newsweek‘s Ramin Setoodeh

Ryan Murphy, the gay creator of Nip/Tuck and Glee, is joining the rat pack against Newsweek‘s Ramin Setoodeh, the Newsweek associate editor who used his column to go after actors who are gay (like Setoodeh) who are too queeny to play straight.

The piece about Sean Hayes in Promises, Promises was “needlessly cruel and mind-blowingly bigoted,” says Murphy, who is calling for a boycott of the magazine. Which is a LOL, because it’s not like you read Newsweek or the paper product of its parent company, the Washington Post. (Also worth mentioning: Murphy’s only openly gay cast member plays a fey gay on the show.)

What’s next, Desperate Housewives‘ queen-b Marc Cherry calling for a public square burning of the red magazine? Can’t all us gays just get naked and roll around in a pile of Newsweeks and be friends again?
