Glenn Beck Invited a Few Friends Over to See D.C.’s Sights

THE SHOT — A shot from today’s “Restoring Honor” rally in Washington D.C., where folks like Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin will rail against all of America’s problems (caused by the Democrats!), while also raising money for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a charity that sends cash to military families when they die in the wars George W. Bush launched. [via]

A herd of mindless Christofascists. While I would not encourage it, I would be glad if someone shot a rifle and screamed ‘Jihad,’ because then all the lemmings would have trampled each other and drowned in the water.

“Hurr durr, they’re all racists cuz they oppose Obama!”

Grow up, people. Yes, I hate the Dominionist kooks like Huckabee and Palin, like many Americans, Republican, Democrat, and Independent. But face it, the libs are the losing side of economic, labor, gun, and immigration issues, just like the conservatards are on the wrong side of environmental, corporate regulation, and social issues.

The last time a million clueless white people gathered in one place to talk about “restoring honor” with their life’s blood, it didn’t work out so well for them (or anyone else).

Glen Beck was a Howard Stern wanna be FM shock jock who’s ratings were in a free fall. He looked around saw the success of Rush Windbag, Scam Hannity, Michael (don’t call me by my real last name Weiner) Savage et all. and simply adopted a whole new persona. He studied the issues which the frightwing lunatics responded to and created basically the perfect right wing lunatic talk show host, and the listeners have unfortunately responded, following his every word lemming like.

The fact that this loser can garner such a crowd who hang on his every word is pretty damm disturbing. This is a crowd who will simply say “how high” when he says “jump” and follow his preaching lock step. He has zero concrete ideas for “fixing” whats wrong with this country. He simply spews words which basiclly say the US is on a course to have martial law declared. His ads are all for his “favorite gold dealers” and he reguarlly advocates purchasing survial kits from companies advertising on his show which he has interests in. He claims he had “no idea” this hatefest was to fall on the anniversary and at the same location of Martin Luther Kings “I have a Dream” speech.

I would like to simply declare how pathetic it is that these tens of thousands of people are being duped by this charlatan. But I am also unforunatley a little ascared of this whole mess………

@PLAYS WELL WITH OTHERS: This wasn’t so much a “hatefest” as a “Christo-fascist circle-jerk”. But yes, all the rest you said is 100% accurate, and I too am scared of the likes of Beck, Palin, and Huckabee, and their American Taliban brigade.

I’ve got to give Beck credit: his alchemy of pompous yet populist outrage, mixed with Reagan and Obama-esque feel-goodism has made him incredibly powerful. Who would have thought the schlub from Headline News would have come so far so fast?

Hopefully though, this lunacy serves as a rallying cry to liberals and progressives everywhere. Make sure the Tea Party stays a blip, and not another four-to-eight year mistake to wake up from.

There is no way to prevent either the Democrats or the Republicans from nominating more bigots like Clinton, Bush or Obama.

Both parties are run by bigots or bigot panderers. A Republican politician will look you in the eye and call you a faggot, dyke, trannie or whatever. A Democrat politician will wait till you leave the room.

A Republican is a racist right centrist with a theocrat attached at the hip. A Democrat is a Republican in drag.

With Democrats like this who needs Republicans?

“When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross.” attributed to Sinclair Lewis

Becks theocratic messianism is way over the top.

Unionists and the mass action movements know how to deal with scum like him and eventually they’ll send him over the cliff.

When that happens Miles McPherson, Randy Forbes, Chuck Norris, Alveda King and all the other bigots he hangs out with are more than welcome to join him.

      Something ’bout a picture and a thousand words………….. :p

Rumor has it once Beck created and adopted his outraged conserative character (which is truly what it is) and things started going so well he made a bet with someone proclaiming “I bet I can get these schmuks to nominate me for either President or VP”………

Who wants to lay odds on him winning the bet????

@Soupy: Yes, I had a couple of friends (black) that went there and said that the people were being portrayed wrongly on TV. They were treated with respect and welcomed. Glad to know that you don’t just see color when your looking at a crowd though.

This was origionally going to be about his new books release, apparently he was smart enough to change the theme for it a while back figuring this would draw more of a crowd.

Most comments show why fags are so out of it. As a gay man at the rally I saw only calm, no signs, no hate talk as I see from most of the sick minds above. Many black, brown, etc faces in area I was in. Most amazing sight was the flight of geese in a V formation flying from Washington Monument down reflecting pool to the Lincolm Memorial. God/Omen ? Don`t think we will something like that a gay parade. Get with it boys and girls be an American not….whatever. Remember when put to a vote NO state has approved of gay marrage…think about it!

      @18 From the source

This site exists to try and help examine the vicious rumour that Glenn Beck raped and murdered a young girl in 1990,” reads a blurb at the top of the home page. “Why won’t Glenn Beck deny these allegations?”

Don’t miss the fine print at the bottom:

Notice: This site is parody/satire. We assume Glenn Beck did not rape and murder a young girl in 1990, although we haven’t yet seen proof that he didn’t. But we think Glenn Beck definitely uses tactics like this to spread lies and misinformation.

Regardless whether or not Mr. Beck himself is guilty of using all these tactics, the website is a veritable textbook on how to construct Internet smear campaigns, from uploading spurious documents, to posting video propaganda on YouTube, to spamming Yahoo Answers with leading questions, to ranting disingenously on Craigslist.

“A herd of mindless Christofascists. While I would not encourage it, I would be glad if someone shot a rifle and screamed ‘Jihad,’ because then all the lemmings would have trampled each other and drowned in the water.”
How can you possibly believe that you are right and the other side is wrong when you talk of shooting a rifle in a crowd and hundreds of thousands of people drowning just because you don’t agree with their political views? And yes, there was hundreds of thousands, not tens of thousands, not thousands. I had the pleasure of attending it myself. There was also not a single racist comment or action during the rally. It’s not right to just sling in the word “racist” every time you want to discredit your opposition without research.
