Freak Flag

Glenn Beck Promises to Get Crazier… Online.

That’s right. Glenn Beck says Fox News is holding him back and he needs the freedom of the internet to really let his freak flag fly. He’ll be launching Glenn Beck TV (or GBTV) on September 12th where he’ll “craft the way news is delivered in a completely different way.”

Oh, the anticipation is titillating. You know it’s going to be really juicy when Beck says that “this network will not have an agenda other than the truth.”

And we all know Beck’s truth goes a little something like this:

  • “When I see a 9/11 victim family on television, or whatever, I’m just like, ‘Oh shut up’ I’m so sick of them because they’re always complaining.” – “The Glenn Beck Program,” Sept. 9, 2005
  • “The only [Katrina victims] we’re seeing on television are the scumbags.” – “The Glenn Beck Program,” Sept. 9, 2005
  • “O-L-I-G-A-R-H-Y.” – misspelling “oligarchy” on his chalk board while claiming he had deciphered a secret code that he said was proof President Obama was trying to create an “Oligarhy,” – Aug. 27, 2009, Glenn Beck show on FOX News Channel

Normally he leaves gay marriage alone… except of course when he’s equating it to polygamy:

You can watch a short video pitch for the new GBTV channel here.

    If by crazy He
means committing suicide live on Skype then I’m all for it. Pass the diet pop corn Blanche.

If homosexuality leads to polygamy does that mean that Beck is suggesting that Joseph Smith, Jr. and Brigham Young were big old gays?

I’m sure that’ll go over real well with his fellow Mormons.

How is this possible? He is already are crazy as can be. Does he really thing being even more insane will help is plummeting ratings?

  • Red Meat

GBTV? Gay Bisexual TV? Lesbianphobia much? Or he just likes talking about gay guys and guys who pretend to be half straight?

  • Matt_miami

I really didn’t hear anything negative about gay marriage in that clip. All he is saying is lets have an honest debate about what marriage is and if the country decides that it includes men/men and women/women than that is what the country decides. The poligomy bit was hard to follow because he is over the top.

His main point is that we are not being honest in this country. Obama is against gay marriage, but he is a liberal democrat and he gets a pass from the media and the gay community. Miss California is against gay marriage but she is a conservative republican and she is attacked by the media and the gay community.

We cannot move this issue along when the same position is treated differently based on what political party you belong to. This is another example of this site supporting liberal democrat views first and gay issues second. let us support those that support GLBT issues regardless of their political ideology.

@Matt_miami: There are plenty of people here who despise Obama for his moral cowardice

    Glenn Beck without an editor?

Glenn Beck was always a lunatic. but now he’s a lunatic without rules. Can’t decide if this is hilarious or scary. Guess we will soon see.

  • Matt_miami

@The crustybastard: maybe so, but you could not tell that by the choice of stories they cover, the headlines that are writen, and the articles that are posted for these poor headlines. The tagline of this site is “Free of an agenda, except the gay one”. I guess from reading the articles for the last 5 days that the gay agenda is the exact same as the left-wing extreme liberal democrat agenda. It’s also the same agenda as Media Matters, which is funded by socialist/communist billionare george soros But gay agenda fits easier because it’s short and there are no gay republicans or gays that believe in god, go to church or watch Fox or are critical of obama, pelosi and reed. that’s to long to fit under the Queerty name so gay agenda is a perfectly acceptable substitution.

What a twat. Polymogy isnt a sexual orientation

  • Japhet

Why do we care so much either way about if 3 or 4 or 96 frigging people want to get married together? Honestly, my reaction every time someone says “AMG! Then it’ll lead to polygamy” is just “So?”.

    I really don’t get it at all…

  • The crustybastard

@Japhet: Because the existing body of law is not equipped to deal with multiple spouses. For instance, the law of intestate succession awards a surviving spouse X% and children from the marriage Y%. If Adam is married to both Lilith and Eve, and has children by both, then Eve dies, is Lilith a surviving spouse and do her children get a share of Eve’s estate? Is Lilith responsible for Eve’s children and debts? What if Lilith subsequently divorces Adam?

You could solve the issues any number of ways, but there is no legal guidance or precedent to do it in any particular UNIFORM way. And that’s just one issue. There are tens of thousands of ways marital status affects a persons benefits, immunities and obligations under the law.

On the other hand, the GENDER of Eve’s Surviving spouse doesn’t materially effect the existing formula of surviving spouse gets X% and children from the marriage get Y%.
