Sometimes you just need to get away, like as soon as you’re done with your holiday family dinner, and there’s no more serene place in the country than Big Sur’s Post Ranch Inn.
Just a few hours south of gay haven San Francisco, The Post Ranch Inn has been attracting the rich and fabulous (as well as those of us lacking the rich part) for years. Even Ellen DeGeneres comes here to get her body worked on by someone other than Portia.
The main attraction is the hotel itself, a blend of modern and organic architecture literally perched on cliffs overlooking the Pacific. Voted the third best hotel in the country in Conde Nast Traveler’s 2005 Reader’s Choice Award, The Post Ranch Inn ensures you’ll be well taken care of, inside and out. A world-class spa and the organic Sierra Mar gourmet restaurant round out the experience. Try the men’s facial package (it’s not the kind you’re thinking, kiddies). You you’ll break the bank, but it’s worth it.
Tourist meccas Carmel and Monterey are close by, but we suggest you skip them. You can buy paintings of unicorns galloping along the beach just about anywhere. There’s no reason to ever leave the hotel.
How about we take this to the next level?
