“Called it!” yelled every gay dude today when news broke that Golden Globe award winning actress Stephanie Johann Angelique Germanotta would be playing noted Italian fashion designer Donatella Versace.
Us Weekly’s shadowy, mysterious sources confirmed the casting this afternoon. Germanotta, a.k.a. Lady Gaga, will play the late Gianni Versace’s sister and the heir to his fashion empire in the third season of Ryan Murphy’s anthology series American Crime Story, which will focus on the designer’s 1997 murder at the hands of gay serial killer Andrew Cunanan.
The casting comes as little surprise, despite tough competition for the role. Murphy had previously hinted that Gaga would be perfect for the role. Also, this:

Ryan Murphy’s judgment is up sh!t creek in my opinion. What acting credentials does Lady Gaga actually have? Just because she’s got long blonde hair like Donatella, it doesn’t mean she’s a good actress.
I’ve always found Ryan Murphy to be superficial and this confirms it.
Could I also just correct Queerty’s very stereotypical impression of gay-identifying men? No, not all gay men called it. Most gay-identifying men couldn’t give a rat’s behind about Donatella, Lady Gaga or Versace.

I guess the EMMY AWARD she won for “American Horror Story” doesn’t count? That kind of thing stands out on a resume’. I’m no Gaga fan, but fool, be real.
Since both shows are helmed by Murphy, I’d say she made it past his audition. Hopefully she’ll do well at yours.
Oh, and another little secret……….the Versace murder was kind of a big deal.

What the hell has Donatella done to herself she doesn’t even look human any more. There has to be some psychological issues going on there.

She did a good job for a complete amature. A good job for, doesn’t translate into winning acting awards. It deserves a pat on the back.

Golden Globe winner doesn’t mean anything-she received 21 votes and two people said they had never even seen AHS! Gaga was terrible. Now-to the point-you know you ugly when youre asked to play one of THE most hideous women in history!!
