Edwin Peacock, a Republican congressional candidate for North Carolina’s 9th district, has broken party lines and come out against the widely misunderstood Amendment One, which bans all same-sex unions in the state.
ThinkProgress reports that Peacock told a local NBC affiliate: “I think we need to look at who are we welcoming here. You look at our top five employers, every single one of them has clearly embracing inclusiveness and in general in their behavior as it relates to some of the benefits that they offer.”
