At least one member of the Growing Pains cast let it be known she doesn’t agree with Kirk Cameron’s claim that homosexuality is “unnatural,” “detrimental” and “ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization.”
On Twitter, Gold posted “I am a strong supporter of the #LGBT Community, and I believe in equal rights for all. #NOH8 #LOVE” and changed her profile picture to a shot of her participating in the “NO H8” campaign.
On his Twitter page, Alan Thicke—a.k.a. flaky shrink Jason Seaver—said “I’ll deal with Kirk’s comments as soon as I recover from Rush Limbaugh‘s.”
And though he never appeared on Growing Pains, actor Josh Charles tweeted “I know Growing Pains was only a tv show, but I have to think both Alan Thicke & Joanna Kerns must feel they failed as parents tonight.”
How about we take this to the next level?

No word yet from Pains‘ resident Cousin Oliver, Leonardo DiCaprio.

I know he thinks he’s a born again Christian and all that, but…isn’t he Jewish???
CodeBlaze
well i know that Leonardo DiCaprio did play gay once in Eclipse and now in the movie Hover
Ben
Good to see some of his costars express their disapproval of his views.
Jakey
Not much of a surprise, since the story goes that he alienated the rest of the cast long ago with his overbearing born-again nonsense. Glad they took the time to say as much, though.

It’s sad and annoying when good people get snapped up by evil cultist behavior, thinking they are doing “gods” work. Jesus is so misrepresented in the Bible it’s nauseating. He would have nothing to do with that evil monkey-god, and he would snapped Kirk out of his hysteria with one glance.

Didn’t the actor who played the youngest son on the show turn out to be gay? Or am I thinking of Angela’s son from Who’s the Boss?
Mr. Robertson
@wc1: Yup, that is what you’re thinking of.
EdWoody
@wc1: I think you’re thinking of Danny Pintauro, yes.
Mike
Chrissy was Cousin Oliver long before Leo arrived!

Cam
The lady doth protest too much.

Doogie’s tweet was the best.

What I don’t get is why anyone cares what this has been dickfart has to say. He hasn’t been relevant for years. It was perfectly obvious what the answer would be when asked the question. All this talk about him just gives him a bigger platform to espouse his wrongheaded views. He has the right to his opinion and we have the right to ignore him like the world has since the 80’s and let him fade back into his obscure douchey little life.

Kirk Cameron also starred in the “Left Behind” movie and I’m pretty sure he produced it or financed it. I have never seen it but my friend’s mom had it on DVD.

Rome was a successful pagan monarchy, republic and empire for about 1800 years. Then it became officially Christian, and Western Civilization promptly collapsed into the Dark Ages within about 80 years. Christianity’s other contributions to the destruction of civilization’s foundations has been to provide rationalizations for genocide, slavery, punitive rape, misogyny, racism, confessions by torture, witch-burnings, book-extermination, etc.
In short, it’s conceivable that “but-for” Christianity, we might be 900 years more advanced.
But “teh gheys aim to destroy mah cilivizationz!” probably seems perfectly rational to a narcissist who dedicated his formative years to playing “let’s pretend” rather than, y’know…school.
Cameron’s derptastic comprehension of evolutionary biology is even weaker than his poor grasp of history; nonetheless, want of credentials or education is itself a point of pride and achievement amongst the committed ignoranti.
In short, Kirk Cameron genuinely is the moron’s moron.
Queer Supremacist
I never liked him or his show before I found out what a douchebreeder he is. I’m surprised he wasn’t constantly telling Tracey Gold she was going to Hell for being Jewish. Considering the fact that Heaven and Hell are Christian concepts Jews reject, though…
@the crustybastard: Preach it, Brother Crusty! We gays are not destroying civilization, we are SAVING it from the evils of Christianity.
@wc1: Actually, I don’t know of any actor on this show being gay (and now I hope someone is), but I think they did get Dusty Springfield, who was bi, to sing the theme. What did she do to deserve this?
Donna
Really…dosen’t Kirk have more brains than to even asnswer the question Morgan asked. he could have just said that he didin’t see relivency in the topic as it is a personal belief that he does not believes he has to share with the public, that it is between him and his GOD.
