We’ve got some major American Horror Story Season 9 casting news…
Ryan Murphy announced on Instagram yesterday that Olympian Gus Kenworthy, who is currently nominated for “Favorite Follow” in the 2019 Queerties Awards, is joining the cast of the hit FX anthology series’ ninth season.
Murphy shared a photo of the 27-year-old freestyle skier, along with the caption: “That special moment when you realize you have an Olympic medal AND will be playing Emma Roberts’ boyfriend on American Horror Story Season 9.”
Gus responded a short while later, sharing Murphy’s original post to his own Instagram page, along with the caption: “I guess the cat’s out of the bag… I’m ?? So ?? Fucking ?? Shook ?? ILYSM @mrrpmurphy ???”

According to his IMDB page, Kenworthy is slotted to appear in at least one episode in the second half of the upcoming season. Other than that, not much else is known, beyond the fact that he and Roberts will be a couple.
Kenworthy’s last foray into acting was a brief cameo in 2017’s Sharknado 5: Global Swarming. His other TV credits into appearances on RuPaul’s Drag Race, Top Chef and Celebrity Family Feud.

Why not? How many gay men are out and on TV? Like none in comparison. The fact that’s he white should be irrelevant since AHS is more of a diverse acting/writing/directing cast than 99% of the shows on TV.

QueerTruth, there are plenty of “straight for pay” guys on TV, most of whom are actors! Ninty-nine percent of them are white, more than 50% are “out.”

If you are making this a “white” issue. Go for it. Then please list how many non-white gay celebrities are out and proud in the entertainment field. (I won’t be waiting.) You can’t represent if you’re not out and that’s part of the point here.
