“I knew when I met Jack, that that was who I was looking for all of my life. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.”
Alright, so maybe marriage is an inherently problematic construct rooted in religion, sexism and control issues.
And yeah, one could argue that the idea of soul mates is an overly simplistic lens by which to attempt to make sense of a world fraught with contradiction, overwhelming suffering and infinite possibility.
But oh my gosh these guys are just too cute.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Piercing the cynicism of even the most jaded of hearts, meet Jack and George, who will be celebrating their first Valentine’s Day as a legally married couple this year:

I’ve been lucky to have known couples such as this one throughout my life, and they have always been an inspiration.
Hopefully the younger generation that is afraid of getting “old” realizes that getting old isn’t an automatic death sentence (though none of us will escape dying). You can still be happy over the age of 30.
You can start by being more inclusive of people outside of your own age, for starters.

Wonderful story.

They have been very important to the community here in Dallas. Sadly, Jack died earlier this year, just short of their one year marriage anniversary.

Amazing! My lifetime partner of 55 years on March 4th, got married in Massachusetts on June 10, 2004. I felt that bond that attracted me to him when I saw him in a gay bar in Boston, and I still have it.
Congratulations to these guys for getting married! Two of our other friends have been together 53 years and finally got married in Georgia, though it was a bit cumbersome.
In Texas
As stated by Ander, Jack died last June. It’s bizarre to have this suddenly show up on Queerty.
