Harry Styles has issued a dire warning to his fans: they should not plan to watch his new gay film My Policeman with their parents.
Styles, 28, has attracted a devoted fandom due as much to his handsome looks as to his music. The subject of his sexuality has also followed him throughout his career. While he has publicly dated women, including Olivia Wilde and Taylor Swift, he’s played coy when discussing if he also has an interest in men.
He’s also refused to label his sexuality in the past, saying “I just think sexuality’s something that’s fun.” Late last year, he also appeared on the cover of Vogue wearing a dress, which only added fuel to the ongoing conversation.
Now, Styles has addressed the subject of sex scenes in two of his new films, My Policeman in which he plays a gay London cop opposite Emma Corrin and David Dawson, and Don’t Worry Darling with Florence Pugh and Gemma Chan. Both movies are due out later this year.

Speaking to the podcast Capital’s Breakfast Show, host Roman Kemp asked Styles point-blank about the rumored sex scenes in both films, and just how intimate he had to get with his male and female co-stars.
“I don’t know if you can watch either with your parents,” Styles quipped.
Kemp then asked about what–if anything–Styles wore while filming the sex scenes, if he was totally naked or if he wore what is known as a “netball”.
“I personally had no experience with a netball,” he said. “It depends very much on who you’re working with and what the situation is.”
“All I can say, from my experience,” Styles continued, “is that we were very lucky to have a trusting relationship with the people we were working with and that came first. It was all discussed and all of it was very OK, above the filming, above the camera, it’s me and you and we trust each other and at any point we can stop whenever.”

“I’d never done that before. On camera at least,” he joked.
Previous reports had characterized the sex scenes in both My Policeman and Don’t Worry Darling as quite explicit. Last month, we reported on that test audiences for My Policeman had confirmed that Styles is fully nude in the film, though only seen from behind. Don’t Worry Darling has received similar fanfare, with director Olivia Wilde saying the love scenes would focus on a “type of female pleasure” and leave little to the imagination.
My Policeman hits theaters in Fall 2022. Don’t Worry Darling lands in cinemas on September 23.

Real openly gay actors exist. tired of this baiter

Ditto. My sexuality doesn’t exist to be a tool for someone to bait me into supporting them
Because they drop “hints” at being lgbt but then immediately course correct when people start to actually question their sexuality. Either start swimming in the lgbt pool with the rest of us or just go dry off, enough of this dipping your toes into the pool and then pulling them out again.

Real openly gay actors may not have been right for the part.

Gay baiting is so boring. There is zero value in it. Say you sleep with guys or simply say you are an ally and move the ef on, Harry. When Pete Wentz said he made out with boys and anything above the waist was fair game, that was cool. He said he didn’t find penis’s attractive and wasn’t interested in having sex with guys. If Harry thinks his coyness makes him intriguing….we were over that a decade ago with you, boy. Reductive.

My first response to Harry some years ago that he was a baiter, but now I see him as someone making a statement about sexuality. A statement by the way that is a benefit to us all.
He’s right sexuality is fun

He is also freeing young people to be who they are without all the labels.

why is his sexuality our business? I do not care what he does and who he does it with. He owes us nothing about his personal life.

One answer to this would be: it’s not our business; but Styles continually uses his sexuality as a marketing tool, deliberately creating ambiguity and hinting at bisexuality or “bi-curiousness”. It’s become quite central to his persona as a singer and an actor. So I’d say he’s made his sexuality our business.

I appreciate his talent as a musician, but I’ve always found his looks to be well-defined by the term “pasty waster.” This overheated fascination with his sex life escapes me.

I wasn’t impressed with the song when it came out – although it has quickly gone to no. 1 worldwide – but thanks to Queerty just saw the video for the first time – and that is really well-conceived. As to Styles’ sexuality, he seems to be pretty flexible, and comfortable with himself. Like a huge percentage of guys his age these days, including most of my friends, who are pretty much all somewhere on the bi, non-labeled, spectrum. I celebrate that as an achievement of our era.
