Fans of the 1980s cult favorite Heathers, rejoice!
The story will soon be returning to TV, albeit with a sexy new LGBTQ take on the classic characters.
The original 1988 film starred Winona Ryder, Shannon Doherty, and Christian Slater and became an instant camp classic.

Intriguingly, the mean girls in this version will be gender-queer Heather Duke (real name: Heath), a lesbian named Heather McNamara, and overweight Heather Chandler. According to the network, the protagonists will be “very different but an equally vicious group of Heathers.” Hmm…
The series will revolve around Winona Ryder’s character Veronica Sawyer and her psychotic boyfriend, originally played by Christian Slater.
