President Obama doesn’t want to keep discriminating against homosexuals. This is why he’s allowed them into the White House! A whole bunch of LGBTs, in fact, are part of the Obama administration (though, we’re guessing, many fewer Ts than Ls or Gs, or even Bs). Some of them are not even doing typically gay things, like Brook Colangelo, who’s the chief information officer for the White House (he’s probably the one snooping on Michelle’s emails). And Jeffrey Crowley, who got a job as the director of the Office of National AIDS Policy, which is a semi-gay job. Then there’s Ebs Burnough, who’s the First Lady’s deputy social secretary, which is a pretty gay job. Now you might say putting together a big list of Obama’s queers would be fuel for the right wing. And you’d be right — it already is (PDF)!

“Barack Obama is the first President to set aside tickets for families headed by homosexual parents for the White House Easter Egg Roll.15”
…..All the frightwing-nutbag lunatic ladies are just
pissed that the Gays had much more festive Easter
bonnets……….. : P

Who are these people? I picked a couple at random. Look at WHINSEC and “Army Values”. Will Palacios fight against DADT? Will Harry Knox speak out on DOMA to the homophobic majority on the Faith Based Council ?
An appointment by the Obama administration means don’t have a public opinion on LGBT civil rights and keep your mouth shut..

For a group that calls itself “Family Research Council”, they are astonishingly bad at research. They got their very first entry wrong.
There is no such person as “Eugene Robinson, a homosexual Episcopal Bishop”. Bishop Robinson’s name is V. Gene Robinson, and Gene is not short for Eugene. (His first name is actually Vicky. He was not expected to survive and his parents thought he was going to be a girl and so had selected female name)

Quite Charles.
Why the right wing worry so much about LGBTs in the White House always baffles me. It’s not like they do anything useful once they get there.
It can’t be anything to do with the waste of tax dollars. Taxes are paid mostly by the little people.
And if tax dollars can be wasted on the Micheals Brown and Chertoff, what’s really harmful about wasting less of them on people who aren’t actually in charge of anything that matters.
John from England(used to be just John but there are other John's)
@ Charles Merrill
Mary, Mary, quite contrary.

Agreed.
Giving gay’s jobs means nothing and shouldn’t happen. These people should not be put in any position of visibility or responsibility.
At least during the Bush years they got it right no?
Tsk. Tsk.

Gays having jobs in the White House isn’t A problem or even THE problem.
The problem is in assumming that gays in the White House are likely to make a significant difference (at least over the course of one administration) in advancing an equality agenda. They aren’t going to band together to demand change. Many of them will be required to mouth platitudes on ENDA and DOMA or be fired. Some of them will believe those platitudes. Some will not. Most will not have the financial wherewithal to resign in protest. If they do (unless they all do it together – and that’s as likely as the White House dropping from the sky onto Maggie Gallagher’s head) it will be dismissed as queeny hissy fit. And then ignored.
The problem is in expecting gays in the White House to wave a magic wand for our equality, thereby relieving the rest of us of the need to get off our arses and campaign for own freedom.

It’s called tokenism. Throw them a few jobs so they’ll shut up about my horrible track record on gay eqaulity. Either that or invite them for cocktails
Chitown Kev
So now we have a partial listing of house gays.

seems to me this is one of those can’t-win situations where hiring gays means you’re practicing tokenism + if you don’t hire gays you’re a bigot.
