Even members of his own party seemed to all agree that Trump’s performance at the first debate was a bit…unhinged.
But the president did have one enthusiastic “governmental” cheerleader; it just happened to not be his own government. Or any real government, for that matter.
Over on Twitter, the “Republic of Kazakhstan” congratulated Trump on a debate win, writing:
“Congratulation to great friend of the Kazakh people @realDonaldTrump for winning debate today! Impressive and amazing result for a strong premier who always put America and Kazakhstan first!”
How about we take this to the next level?

The account is a parody to promote Sasha Baron Cohen’s recently-announced sequel to 2006’s Borat, and the tweet even came with this Trump 2020 campaign ad:

Borat arrives October 23 on Amazon Prime.

What’s sad is that Trump would probably believe this was an actual endorsement from the real government of Kazakhstan…

I was going to say the same thing. He’ll probably bring it up at the next debates. Today the Police Chief of Portland who Trump says endorsed him-said “NO WAY”.
