Well, I’m not crazy is the main difference. The Billy on the Street persona, that guy is obviously a lunatic. I think of Billy on the Street as a live-action cartoon at this point. It’s inspired by personas that I really loved as a kid. Pee-Wee Herman, I was obsessed with. In a way, what Pee-Wee was doing was performance art, although that is a very pretentious term nowadays. Billy on the Street is, to a certain degree, a social experiment and performance art as much as it is a silly comedy game show.”
— Billy Eichner drawing a fine line between the two Billys in an interview with Vogue

I can’ answer this, he is nothing like his Billy On the Street character. I’ve met him and he comes across as so full of himself, He thinks he’s a really big star, it was very disappointing. If you’re a fan and see him out, it’s best of just keep walking and enjoy him on TV.
stranded
I think he’s so damn cute

I have to agree with the earlier commenter, seeing Billy in action in person, his ego has gotten way too big (i don’t know what he was like years ago) and hopefully that will even out regardless of all his recent success.
bicurious
I don’t understand these low grade tv celebs who develop overblown egos in the same way I don’t get the local gay ghetto gays who think they are hot stuff because the bartenders and other party gays on the block know their name. Those who contribute to society as an architect, or a doctor, or a scientist are the ones who deserve the big ego. Certainly not someone of Billy on the Street’s low stature.
No
I find Eichner insufferable.
