So which is the bigger gaffe: The Republican National Committee sending out a mailer encouraging recipients to call a $2.99/minute phone sex number (which was supposed to be a ploy to generate new RNC donations), or the Human Rights Campaign, in the middle of its middling PR offensive, advertising in the Bay Area Reporter that it helped lobby lawmakers in support of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell?
Also: The HRC is spending money to reach America’s gays? To, what, continue convincing us they’re relevant? Haha. That’s some fantastic use of advertising dollars right there. Instead, shouldn’t HRC be spending money to, say, reach out to voters who might be swayed into contacting their lawmakers? Of course, but that would violate HRC’s policy of self-preservation.

HRC is an incredible waste of money.

April fool, darling.

This is WORSE than the GOP phone sex thing.
Interns could proof this tripe for free.

300,000 phone calls and emails to Congress.
With HRC’s annual budget of $50 million, that’s $166 per call or email.
Plus, those calls and emails didn’t accomplish anything. Members of Congress don’t count calls or emails.

The more phone calls they make, the weaker our cause gets. It says to the Congress, “Weak bitches only make calls and more calls, but always vote for us anyway. So we can put gays rights off, bitches always call call call. It doesn’t mean anything.”
A page comes running in a democratic congressman’s office. “Wow! We are getting so many calls from the gays! What should you do about DADT and DOMA!”
“Get used to the calls. You will see, it becomes white noise. Gays are some of the most loyal voters we have in our pocket. No need to get alarmed.”
