SOUNDBITES — “Certainly this is an emotional issue and an important issue for many New Yorkers. I just don’t think the majority care too much about it at this time because they’re out of work, they want to see the state reduce spending, and they are having a hard time making ends meet. And I don’t mean to sound callous, but that’s true.” —New York State Sen. Tom Libous, the deputy Republican leader, sounding callous following yesterday’s marriage vote, and failing to recognize the difference between a lawmaker’s vote and a citizen’s vote (via)

Senator Libous is acting cavalier about his vote, so that its no big deal that he voted against equal rights for a segment of this nation’s population. Now, that is really being a Big bigot.

Yeah, and they are having a hard tmie making ends meet because our government keeps handing out all our tax money to firms like Goldman Sachs so they can use this interest free money to make billions. Meanwhile the states are in debt, social services are in the toilett and jobs have yet to rebound, so that guy can be as flip as he wants, I don’t think that any of those guys in NY govt.’s jobs are safe.
