The internet can’t get enough of John Travolta’s astoundingly incorrect attempt at introducing Broadway star Idina Menzel at the Academy Awards.
It wouldn’t have made such a splash had Travolta not been so very off the mark, giving her what appeared to be an entirely new first and last name.
Thus Adele Dazeem was born.
Now Broadway’s If/Then producers are getting in on the joke — letting audiences know:
At this performance the role of Elizabeth will be played by Adele Dazeem.
Adele made her Broadway debut as Moritz in the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winner, Nert, for which she received a Tony Award Nomination. She followed that with her Tony Award-winning performance as Ephraima in Wicked-ly, which she subsequently brought to London’s West End…Dazeem’s voice can be heard in the Disney animated musical, Farfignugen, singing its Oscar award winning song, Let It Go.
