Prepare to feel absolutely no pity whatsoever for a South Texas Police Chief Joe Rodriguez. Rodriguez is running for Primera City Constable in 2012 and has kicked off his campaign by sending a porn pic of a transwoman to his opponent, sitting Constable Robert Lopez.
Lopez filed a police report alleging harassment against Rodriguez. Lopez says Rodriguez sent the picture in a failed attempt to make Lopez look bad, but Rodriguez says that he meant to send it to a cousin of his. Either way, Rodriguez still likes sharing trans porn with his family members and political rivals—not such an admirable quality in a local Constable. Also seeing as Rodriguez got fired from his old job as a school cop for viewing porn on school computers, his campaign seems pretty much off to a horrible start.
But the real winner in this entire lurid tale is the young reporter in the video above. He definitely get his kicks by offensively calling the image, “she-male fetish porn.” You can tell he thinks that this muckraking story about porn and politics is his big break.

Rodriguez’s cousin’s last name better be lexically close to “Lopez” or Rodriguez’s cousin’s first name better be lexically close to “Robert” – otherwise the excuse won’t fly.
Of course, having this cousin interviewed and telling the press, “Yeah, he often sends me this stuff. Maybe you guys can get him to stop – I don’t like getting it any more than Mr. Lopez does,” would probably not be the sort of publicity Rodriguez wants.

@B: …or their addresses. And all it takes sometimes is a first letter in common.
Still, sending that sort of message to *anybody* when you’re running for office, particularly in a place like Texas, is foolish.

Justin
@Nix: I’ve seen both suggested by trans people. Of course, I’ve seen both objected to by transpeople.

Well, we could return it to Mexico as “stolen property”, but that would set a precedent for Mexico demanding California as well.
