IL’s Catholic Adoption Agencies Drop Lawsuit They Had No Chance Of Winning

When Illinois passed civil unions, Catholic adoption agencies lost their state funding because they refused to let gay parents adopt. The Catholic charities sued so they could continue receiving taxpayer money to discriminate against gays and a state judge basically said, ‘Haha. No.’ So now they’ve finally dropped their lawsuit. That’s good seeing as they had no chance of ever winning, though we would have loved to see their “gays make bad parents” arguments squashed in a court of law. Oh well.
