Jaden Smith has so many boyfriends it’s hard to keep track.
And now you can add Justin Bieber‘s name to the list.
Related: Jaden Smith confirms “Tyler is my boyfriend, that’s true”
This funhouse mirror of a pop culture item was announced on Instagram, naturally.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Smith posted a comment — “pan my vocals” — on a video of him singing into a microphone, prompting Bieber to respond, “Thought I was your boyfriend.”
“You know that you are,” wrote back Smith.
Fans responded as you’d expect, with a scoop of glee and a dash of accusing Bieber of cheating on his wife, Hailey Rhode Bieber.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Smith has flirted with a public boyfriend announcement.
In November, he told a crowd of people that Tyler, the Creator was his “motherf*cking boyfriend, and he’s been my motherf*cking boyfriend my whole f*cking life.”
GetOffMyInternets
The obsession the editors of Queerty have had with Bieber and Smith since they were tweens, is so gross.
Chrisk
The only thing that matters is that it’s Will Smiths kid. If I was him I’d be embarrassed though.
Hermes
Why exactly? Would it be equally gross if it were a straight publication having a far worse obsession with, oh, let’s say Hanna Montana and her alter ego from pre teen up? If it wouldn’t, then YOU are the one with the problem.
swamp bubble
I hate everything about this.
Kieran
And yet you took the time to click on the story and comment.
bonbon
@Kieran I find hating can be quite satisfying.

Ok first time around jaden’s attempt at trolling by announcing he had a boyfriend (Tyler laughed it off btw) was mildly annoying but whatever it was what it was, now with this being his second attempt at this please tell me I’m not the only one who thinks this has gone from annoying to flat out disrespectful. On one hand I think it says something positive about society that we’ve reached a point where a famous person can flirt with the idea of coming out and not immediately get crucified for it, but on the flip side coming out should NOT be something that gets reduced to a joke. Is it possible Jaden actually is gay or bi or anything less than cis hetero yeah, do I personally believe his “coming out” is genuine and he’s actually gay or anything like that no. and I don’t think a lot of other people believed it either or he wouldn’t have had to double down on it so many times cuz people don’t generally dismiss an attempt at coming out (as far as I’m aware) but they will If their bs meter is going off like in this case. If Jaden isn’t actually coming out then he needs to end this whole thing cuz it’s massively disrespectful to all of the other people in history who’ve decided to genuinely come out at great personal risk cuz coming out is a very serious and personal thing.
Kieran
Why do you automatically assume they’re joking? Don’t project your homophobic issues on others.
Greg
Nobody gets crucified.
thisisnotreal
Kieran it has nothing to do with being homophobic cuz I’m gay myself buddy so just no, it has to do with the fact that Jaden and lots of other kids like him have made it their whole persona to be edgy and different and cling to anything considered different or unique in an attempt to get more attention and validation. There have been many many times Jaden has said or done things all for the sake of attention and being edgy so it makes this whole situation with him automatically suspect. Don’t believe me, check out his Instagram or Twitter sometime and you’ll see my point.
Kieran
@thisisnotreal There are many gay people who have internalized homophobia without realizing it. If Jaden Smith wants to keep people guessing about his sexual orientation or even perhaps his gender identification, why is that a problem for you?
iamru2
Kieran maybe it’s a problem for him just like it’s a problem for you that he is expressing his opinion!
Donston
Kieran, please stop. You know damn well these dudes aren’t boyfriends. And what he’s doing isn’t really about “keeping people guessing”. It’s probably more about attention. Most even semi closeted guys who actually have substantial same-sex romantic, sexual, emotional, relationship passions and ambitions don’t play-play about having all these famous boyfriends and going so far as to make your friend uncomfortable by continuing to say you’re a couple. That’s typically something that straight/heterosexuals and overall hetero-leaning “queers” do.
Hermes
Why do you assume that Jaden is not bi or gay and/or genderfluid? What gives YOU the right to dictate his life? Even if he isn’t, I think it is wonderful that these friends can joke like this. I have been out since my early teens. I was very lucky – I was very popular before and after I came out – in a day more homophobic than this. My straight friends joked with me, and teased me and rather than getting bent out of shape I played right along with it, and the end result was that not only did I retain my popularity, I graduated with the majority of MALE votes for most popular male in my class. Now I could have acted like a piece of crap and been offended and angry and whatever, and probably it would have ended much differently, but I didn’t. I still have some of those friends and a lot of other ones. Jaden and Justin are playing – let them play – and if they are serious, let them be serious. I do not know what is wrong with so many gay guys – I guess I can grasp it intellectually, but not in my heart.
iamru2
Smith is always screaming for attention not surprised with the 2 he calls mom and dad he’s also looking not so great in the pics posted here, Bieber has a mighty hot ass tho and I’d still do him on his stomach tho so I wouldn’t have to see what looks like vomit all over his torso.
ldweisberg
Stop giving Jaden the attention he craves. He has no talent and is simply a spotlight whore.
Hermes
That’s bull – you resent the fact that he started out as “celebrity royalty” – but he did a fabulous job in the reboot of Karate Kid, a good job in several other movies and even did his best to rescue that abomination of Scientology Propaganda his father had him act in. He does have talent, and why shouldn’t he have the spotlight? Because YOU don’t like him? Grow up.
justgeo
Merchandise merchandise way to much $$$$ and space for cheap shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mell Brooks was right.
Greg
Oh brother. No I’m your boyfriend. No, I am. No he’s not. Yes you are. I am?
Larry
It’s all marketing pure and simple. You guys above are all just jealous it isn’t you.
Hermes
Yes they are, absolutely.
Donston
Jaden is a rather pretentious, corny and attention seeking “queer”. However, the dramatic ass reaction to him is even more lame.
OzJosh
It’s sad and offensive that these two lame-brained muppets think it’s hilarious to pretend to be “boyfriends”. What they are actually doing is mocking homosexuality, reducing it to something that’s a lark or a joke. But, hey, they’re no better than they ought to be. What really pisses me off is that Queerty feels the need to give them oxygen, and is treating their escapades with similar levity. Time to wise up, Queerty folk. And grow a pair.
Donston
I don’t see them as “mocking” anything. It’s now “cool” for guys in certain social groups and who appeal to certain demos to very loudly let people know that they’re not 100% heterosexual or they don’t feel 100% cis gender or at least to let the world know that they’re “queer friendly”. The only thing I find annoying is that very much like with many women who do stuff like this to turn on guys, most of these dudes aren’t doing it to appeal to homosexual/homo-leaning/homo-romantic/gay guys. It’s more so to appeal to females and show them how supposedly sensitive, open-minded, and complex they are. It’s all good so long as you don’t say you’re “gay” or have a fo’ real relationship with a dude.
But ultimately, this particular situation really isn’t something worth getting upset about.
Hermes
Oh for the sake of the goddess and the god, grow up. They aren’t mocking anything. It’s OK in their generation to be gay or bi, let me repeat that, its OKAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The fact that you can’t imagine it just being “normal” to be gay, my son is their age and its completely normal. Everybody has a gay friend, and unless a kid is from a crazily fundamentalist family gay and straight boys hang around all the time – but even when I was young, if you were cool with it, you were completely loved by your straight friends, I always was. Now I grant, at their age, those who constantly look for everything to be a putdown, because they instantiated crap from extremist parents or religions may have more difficulty because they automatically ASSUME that everything is really a putdown – and to them I say, please, if you have insurance get therapy – people have damaged you – it isn’t your fault but you should not have to live that way. Paranoia is not good for anyone.
For the record, I think it is awesome that they do this, and think nothing of it, I don’t think they are putting anyone down, and I think the quicker the gay community learns that most people are not out to hurt them, but that they need to be careful of those who are and FRIENDS WITH THOSE WHO AREN’T, the better.
Oh and you have no idea, Jaden may well actually be gay.
Gregorj
What do people here think about “Desmond is Amazing” (11y) dancing in a gay bar, with men throwing money at him?
Kangol
I think that story, if it’s true, is extremely disturbing and the bar should can that act. The story seems only to have been reported on right-wing or sensationalist, anti-gay news sites (Google it and Townhall, Breitbart, Mediatakeout, etc. all pop up), so who knows if it’s true. I’m curious; where did you see it first? Have you seen independent, non-right-wing confirmation of the story? Have you see anyone interview anyone at Club Langston, where it supposedly occurred?
Hermes
I don’t believe an 11 year old is dancing in a bar… full stop… unless its not in the US. The bar would have lost its license instantly and no one would go along with losing their license. IF a boy is dancing at a club somewhere that isn’t a bar, I don’t think its my business, unless he’s being abused.
However, this only seems to exist in the Right wing blogosphere. And honestly, that’s where the whole idea that a pizza parlor built on a concrete slab had an international ring of pedophiles being run out of it’s basement by Hillary Clinton…… I laughed in the face of an old friend who told me that initially all excited weeks before the whole thing blew up on them and it was revealed that the pizzeria didn’t even have a basement. He, being a conservative, but sane, was much deflated and rather ashamed of himself for entertaining it because he hated Hillary – others further gone than he is STILL BELIEVE IT – and some idiot showed up with weapons to rescue the kids or something and (I think) shot into the pizzeria, though did not hit anyone. The object lesson there is – do not believe almost anything published in the Right – its mostly lies, in fact close to all now, or as Trump’s front-woman Conway said “alternative facts” – you know those facts that aren’t real.
And I’ll go one step further. If he is dancing somewhere I hope he makes a fortune and pays for his college without having to borrow the money.
Itsonlythetruth
If Jaden wasn’t Will Smith’s son you would never give him the time of day. Queerty stop abusing me and the rest of your readers.
Kangol
No one’s abusing you. If you didn’t like the story, why click on it, and why, on top of that, respond?
Jaden Smith is a high profile figure who has been engaging in queer and gender-bending activities for some time, so it makes sense that Queerty would post articles on him, particularly one involving Justin Bieber, who is arguably more famous.
Hermes
If you don’t like it, don’t read it. I think Jaden is very cool and have followed him since Karate Kid –
Ashke113
Afe these articles written by a group of hormone driven flaming little queens who have all just hit puberty? Queerty you seriously need to rehire new writers for your articles……
Donston
These types of “articles” get comments, clicks and shares, and they often get more of those things than most articles that focus on dudes who are openly gay, who have legitimate same-sex romantic passions and ambitions, who indulge real and public same-sex relationships and/or who are truly opening up about who they are and their struggles. And Bieber is a popular name. While Jaden is a somewhat popular name (if not a generally popular person).
Clicks, comments and shares are what matters most to websites. The general public is often much more interested in spectacle and speculation than anything else. It is what it is. And that’s not gonna change, especially for a site of this nature. No need to be so excessively bitter.
ShowMeGuy
Bread and circus. It is all part of the show.
Lacuevaman
who cares
Kangol
You did enough to comment, so you’ve answered your question. You care.
SportGuy
Weird, even if he was gay I would hope he would aim higher than that meth head, trailer park looking bieber thing.
iamru2
That’s all he can get with his looks.
Rex Huskey
and you think the other one is a catch? yuck
Hermes
and there are the two bitter old queens who can’t get anyone, responding to SportGuy. I agree, Bieber looks terrible these days – mostly due to the tats, I hope he isn’t doing drugs, but he might be. Jaden though was his friend back when they were both just kids. Jaden bought him an expensive watch for … his birthday I think it was, back when Jaden was 13 give or take, they’ve been friends forever. I don’t give up on people, why would you assume that Jaden should?
