James Dobson Was Always a Bigot. Now He’s Something Worse: A Flip-Flopper

Bush

If there’s one ultimate sin in conservative circles, it’s not embezzling funds or cheating on your wife. It’s flip-flopping. And that’s just what James Dobson, ousted ex-leader of Focus on the Family, did in Kentucky’s senatorial primary.

After endorsing Republican candidate Trey Grayson last week, he’s yanked his stamp of approval — and gifted it on Rand Paul, son of Tea Party favorite Ron Paul. How come?

“Senior members of the GOP told me Dr. Paul is pro-choice and that he opposes many conservative perspectives, so I endorsed his opponent,” Dobson said. “But now I’ve received further information from OB/GYNs in Kentucky whom I trust, and from interviewing the candidate himself.”

Heavens to Betsy, Dobson admits he’s been punk’d! By conservatives! Oh James, just give up.
