Yes, I think that the gay thing could have had some influence on the voting, because there’s a good portion of America that still thinks being gay is wrong.
But I was prepared for that, and I don’t regret being me… I have to say, I really appreciate The X Factor for never asking me to [edit myself]. The show was always encouraging me to be myself, for the most part. No one ever said I was ‘too gay’ or needed to ‘tone it down.’ Thank goodness!”
—X Factor contestant Jason Brock, discussing the possibility that his sexuality was a factor in his being voted off, to Yahoo! Music.

Dude, maybe you just sucked? Nothing at all to do with gayness.

Dammed if you do, and dammed if you don’t. People often vote for someone who they have something in common with, sometimes it is their religion, sometimes it’s their sexual preferences… and I hope most times its based on qualifications. Being gay does not make you a better entertainer, politician, athlete or hairdresser! It’s time to move on and thank them for giving you the opportunity to be yourself… and not a cry baby!

Playing the Gay card is so LAST YEAR!!! I caught a little of that performance, it was way over the top and the dancers were a total distraction. Get over yourself girlfriend!!!

I’d jam a scimitar through the skull of every single performer, judge, producer, staff and viewer of The X Factor. With literally no exceptions.
MikeE
@2eo: have you considered a sledgehammer? while it lacks the dramatic flair and visual impact of the scimitar, it gains in precision and “after-impact” splash. I agree with you completely. well, except on your choice of device. I like the blunt object route, myself.
iBLOW
No you got kicked off because your performance wasn’t that good really I didn’t think he could sing either performances. Don’t say that because Clay Aiken won Idol and everybody knew he was gay

Jason, unfortunately you have talent but a little too much of the over the top gay showmanship of Liberace. Work on your talent brother and tone yourself up … times are changing and America is too but nobody wants it throw down their throats unless they are at a drag show… have a great time and keep singing! SF loves your act!
